Since 1977 the BCA also offers & social activities, including befriending for the local community and provides a social framework of support for new communities arriving in Birmingham.

The principal activity of the charity is to provide grants to assist overseas students at higher education institutions, studying in the Diocese of Liverpool.

We support a nursery and primary school called 'Los Pollitos' situated in barrio Edguard Munguia, Managua, Nicaragua. The school currently has approximately 220 pupils. We pay the core salaries of 7 teachers. We have recently paid for the construction of a new building to house a library, office and computer room. We raise funds through a 'sponsor a teacher' scheme and pub quizzes.

WE PROVIDE A RURAL YOUTH CLUB FOR YOUNG PEOPLE BETWEEN 10 AND 30, OFFERING SPORTS, EDUCATIONAL AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES TO BENEFIT OUR MEMBERS.

The club provides social activities for physically disabled and able bodied members, within the Spalding area. Including evening meetings with entertainment, and visits to local places of interest and restaurants.

This charity provides facilities for sporting, educational and leisure activities for the local community and beyond, including fencing, badminton, short mat bowling, dancing, yoga, children's parties and community social events. The Hall is also used during term time for sporting, educational and social activities by Leighton C P School and PTA

To raise funds by means of holding community social events, raffles, coffee mornings, donations from our local Lions wishing well, and assisting with tourism attractions. The objectives of the Society are to provide educational instruction and entertainment for Rustington and the local communities and to encourage participation and public appreciation in the dramatic arts.We present three main shows per year, run a Youth Theatre group and hold social events for our members on a regular basis.

To promote social inclusion for the public benefit by working with people in Southend on Sea and the surrounding area, who are, in particular, socially excluded on the grounds of their ethnic origin, religion, belief or creed (in particular, members of the Tamil community) to relieve the needs of such people and assist them to integrate into society,

The community centre is hired out - private parties and social activities, including exercise classes, tai chi groups, slimming world, brownies, archery. slow theatre, line dancing, keep fit, art groups, meeting place for over 60's and is also used as a polling station during elections.

Through the Rotary Club funds are raised by fund raising and social events. Those funds, in certain circumstances can be "multplied" via the Rotary Matching Grants at District, National and International level to fund larger project, particularly to assist in poorer countries. In addition assistance can be offered in practical waysby Rotarians employing their business skills to help others.
