Saddleworth RDA is a Riding for the Disabled group based in Diggle near Oldham. Since June 2018 we have offered opportunities for children and adults with physical and learning disabilities to experience horse care and therapeutic horse riding sessions. Lessons take place in an outdoor arena as well as hacking along safe paths. The RDA motto is: It's what you CAN do that counts!

Provide opportunities for people with disabilities - wheelchair users, ambulatory disabled and those with learning difficulties to learn to drive RDA assessed ponies along country tracks and lanes. They also learn how to look after the ponies and to drive obstacle courses and dressage tests towards competition work which greatly helps their confidence and co-ordination.

Offering horse-riding to physically and/or mentally disabled children and young adults

we help the elderly of Westbury and surrounding villages, giving them somewhere to meet friends catch up on local gossip,they also have a cooked meal,play bingo, excercises and we are hoping next year to have guest speakers on varied subjects,usually three day trips are organised seaside or garden centre,it also helps if we feel someone not looking ok we talk to our co ordinator.

Haven Youth Ranch operates in Leicestershire and carries out its purpose of promoting wellbeing by providing equestrian activities for children/young people in a peaceful, safe haven in which children can be themselves, grow in life skills and discover Christian values. We are an independent charity based at the Equine Centre at Pencoed College. Our principal aim is to provide horse riding and horse related activities to children and adults in our local community who have physical and learning disabilities. All our riding sessions are held indoors under the supervision of highly trained RDA Coaches who are supported by a team of trained volunteers.
