We rescue horses and ponies that have been abandoned, neglected or abused and ensure that horses and ponies have a sanctuary for life mainly through our network of knowledgeable carers, advancing the education of the public in all such matters. Equines with more complex needs are cared for in our peaceful sanctuaries. Our Equine Assisted Services enable us to help people in need.

The charity carries out vital work to improve the health and welfare of as many equines as possible. It provides essential specialist medical and behavioural care and provides support and education to the equine owning community. Many of the charitys beneficiaries find a loving home on its successful rehoming scheme whilst others are given lifelong care with the charity.

To promote the sport, to increase participation by persons (both able bodied and with any form of disability) in healthy recreation in dressage. The FCRT's mission is to enable horse-motivated students with special needs to relate more successfully to others and to have greater and more appropriate control over their own lives. This use of horses, to enable young people to learn and develop, is the core of our work.

The principal aim of the charity is the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homingh (except for our equines and farm animals) of stray and unwanted animals. The Charity provides care and shelter for stray, neglected and unwanted animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, cows and pigs.

The charity owns a rescue centre in Lancashire. This is staffed by loyal employees who are trained and experienced in all aspects of horse welfare.At the year end, 67 equines were in residence in the centre. Additionally 256 equines were fostered in homes throughout the country.
