We hold regular meetings for our members. We make donations to various naval charities

The RAF Association (RAFA) is a membership organisation of serving and former members of the Royal Air Force, their families and dependants and all those supporting the aims of the Association. The Association provides help and advice, assistance, comradeship and, where required, welfare and care for the whole RAF family.

Support and development of interests

Supporting the care of the residents of the Salvation Army home at Villa Adastra

Supporting the wider activities of the Regiment known as The Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Milita). Assisting with recruiting, retention and welfare of serving and formerly serving volunteers and their families. Ownership of Regimental Silver and chattels, also Regimental War Memorial at Monmouth. Assistance to Regimental Museum.

Fundraising for Branch charitable activities on Anglesey.

We arrange collections in Greater Manchester and Lancashire Counties to support local Charities and Airborne Forces Charities and to welfare of Branch members as need arise due ill health or financial stressNo expensive are paid to our Branch Members and Volunteers involved in charitable activities of fund raising for charity work

Have Monthly meetings with a speaker for our members. Also have a Social Meeting for members. Supports Royal British Legion and supplies a wreath on Remembrance Day. We support local charities when having our monthly speakers.

In the assistance or benefit of such persons serving or at any time served in the 8th Bn The Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) or in The City of London Bn The Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) and of any other units descendent from the Regiment in the Reserve Army or of such dependents or issue of these persons as may be in need of charitable assistance or benefit.

Looking after the old and infirm members of our Branch. Assisting in Regimental Charities, Help for Heroes, Holidays for Heroes, Royal British Legion, etc.

Assist in the welfare of ex members of the Royal Air Force and their dependants. Provides information to these people if required. Makes grants to individuals. Works closely with the RAF Benevolent Fund and deals with some of their cases appertaining to our members.

The Alresford and District branch of the Royal Air Force Association meets every month to conduct its business with the primary purpose of providing support to ex RAF members and their families. We do this by raising funds via donations for the Wings Appeal charity and via our welfare fund, to support members who are ill, or in need of assistance, especially any war injured and their dependants.

Frome Branch of the Royal Naval Association provides social, financial and welfare support for all serving and ex serving RN, RM, QARNNS, WRNS and their reserves and includes all ranks and ratings.

Provide social contact between ex-members of airborne forces and make small bequests to widows of former members.

The Charity supports the regimental museum by annual grant to The Lancashire Infantry Museum Fund.The object of the charity includes the promotion, support, assistance and improvement of The Lancashire Regiment Museum of the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment in co-operation with it's trustees, management & staff by carrying out research and organising educational events.

Hold various funchions to raise money .Coffee mornings, Band Concert, Sales Luncheons and Raffles.

Promote understanding of the deeds of the 2nd Infantry Division during 1942?46 within the Burma Campaign, with focus on the Battle of Kohima, by displaying current and future collections at the museum. Assist in the maintenance of 2nd Infantry Division memorials in York and Kohima. To assist with maintenance of other memorials around Kohima, including the memorial to Maj Gen Grover in Jotsoma

To promote comradeship and, by charitable means, welfare for past and present members of the RAF, and Air Forces of the Commonwealth, and their spouses and dependents.

Social and welfare

To provide support and financial assistant to all members and ex-members of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Merchant Navy, and WRNS. To assist any local charities with Naval influence. To provide guidance to any of these, in respect of financial assistance. To provide financial assistance if required.Social activities, Companionship ,outings and Welfare for members and their families.

The provision of charitable support to those serving and retired RAF personnel, their spouses and children, in the Shrewsbury and District area. The provision of recreational activities to engender comradeship and fellowship among serving and retired RAF personnel, and the raising of funds to support the Associations charitable aims.

The purpose of the Museum is to protect the regimental collection, uphold the tradition of the Regiment and perpetuate its deeds for future generations.

Navy orientated activities only, including RBL, veterans welfare, mission to seafarers.
