Armed forces Charities

The object of the Association is to promote, through the comradeship engendered by its members, the welfare by charitable means of all serving and former members of Our Air Forces, their spouses and dependants, together with the widows and widowers and dependants of those who died whilst serving or subsequently.

Provision of social activities and welfare services to serving and ex members of the royal navy, royal marines and reserves and their dependants.

Education and training of young people age 12 to 18 using the customs of the Royal Navy in many subjects and the aim is to produce good and upright citizens for the future.

MONTHLY MEETING, REGULAR COLLECTIONS, SUPPORT NEEDS IN THE COMMUNITY( ROYAL AIR FORCE RELATED) VIA WELFARE OFFICER

To assist in the wefare of past and present R.A.F. personnel and their families

To promote Comradeship and provide welfare by charitable means in the Telford & Wrekin and wider Shropshire area.

We have held regular monthly meetings and occasional social events, made subscriptions and collections to raise branch funds. During the financial year we have made donations to various charities and appeals for assistance.

To provide social and community activities for ex Royal Navy and Merchant Navy men and women.

Raise funds in support of other charities. Hold branch and social meetings for members. Take part in annual parades eg. Remembrance Sunday.

1. To promote the efficiency of the Brigade of Gurkhas in particularly but not exclusively by: a) Fostering esprit de corps and comradship by promoting and maintaining contact among serving and former members of the Brigade of Gurkhas b) Preserving the history and traditions of the former Regiment; and 2. To releive poverty among former members of the Regiment and their dependants

Makes grants to adults and cadets of the Somerset Army Cadet Force to enhance the variety of activities on offer. In addition it supports cadets from less well off families to ensure that they are fully included in all activities.

To relieve iether generally or individually persons who are serving or have served in the Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces or the dependants of such persons who are in conditions of need hardship or distress.

Wellingborough Sea Cadets is a nautical theme charity under the umberella of the Sea Cadets. We take cadets from the age of 9 until 18 based off the customs of the Royal Navy in activities afloat alongside core building for that young person (DofE, BTECs)

to help young people towards responsible adulthood by encouraging valuable personal attributes and high standards of conduct, using a nautical theme based on the customs of the Royal Navy through leadership, teamwork and self belief. Our aim is to provide young people between the ages of 9 to 18, who are predominantly drawn from local boroughs, the best possible head start in life.

To provide welfare assistance to and promote social activities for No.8 Area RNA branches The No 8 Area of the Royal Naval Association covers the Midlands region of the UK. It has 33 Branches stretching from Derby in the North to Pershore in the South, and from Shrewsbury in the West to Corby in the East.

WRAT supports former or existing members of 269 (West Riding) Battery RA who fall on hard times. It makes grants to 269 Battery in aid of Battery social activities. It publishes, from time to time, regimental histories of former artillery units in the West Riding of Yorkshire and donates copies of these to local libraries.

We promote, through the comradeship engendered by our members, the welfare by charitable means of all serving and former members of our air forces, their spouses and dependants, together with the widows and widowers and dependants of those who died whilst serving or subsequently. We are specifically, but not exclusively, aimed at those who serve(d) in the medical services.

TO RAISE FUNDS BY COLLECTION IN PUBLIC PLACES, EG. SHOPPING MALLS, ETC. AND TO SUBMIT THESE FUNDS TO HQ AND/OR THE ROYAL AIR FORCE BENEVOLENT FUND.

During this reporting period the charity have conducted many fund raising events throughout the year, these include, street collections in Burton on Trent, table top sales and attending open days and fates. We have also organised trips to Severn valley railway during a 40's weekend and a trip to Gibraltar, where we laid wreaths on Remembrance Sunday.

To assist welfare and relieve hardship for past and present members of the Westminster Dragoons.

Holds annual Flag Day and disburses proceeds to naval charities.

The Village Hall is the centre of our social community activities for the small hamlet of Sawdon within the North York Moors jurisdiction.Our activities include our Village Show, Cream Teas, Coffee Mornings and Parties etc.Our principle activity at the present is fund raising to replace our exhisting Hall which was an RAF hut. Its condition is such that we require a new Village Hall.
