Rehearsals & Public Concerts of Choral Music. Awarding a Tenor Scholarship to a young singer, whenever possible. Use of young musicians and soloists in concerts, whenever possible.In summarising the main activities above, the trustees have taken into account the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on Public Benefit.

A mixed choir where members are made welcome without any audition. As well as our Annual Concert, we perform as often as we can to raise funds for charities.

The objective of the Choir is to promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of the art and science of music, and in particular the art and science of chamber music, by the presentation of public concerts and recitals and by such other related activities as the Choir through its committee shall determine from time to time.

The study, practice and encouragement of folk music in all its forms in order to foster public knowledge and appreciation of such music by means of public performance or otherwise, including training and education of folk singers and instrument players, male or female, from all age groups and backgrounds.

Our aim is to promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of choral music in all its aspects by the presentation of public concerts and recitals and by other such ways.

Harvington Village Hall is a facility which provides space for members of the community to come together to learn, share experiences and be entertained. Regular users of the Village Hall include a Nursery &Preschool; Yoga & similar exercise groups; an Amateur Dramatic Society; Rainbows and Girlguiding Groups; Phoenix Ladies Group; St. James Church events; Singing group; First school PTFA.

To promote, improve, develop and maintain public interest and appreciation of the art and science of choral music in all aspects; in the county of Dorset.To sing, rehearse and perform choral music.

Under the terms of the Trust Deed the trustees must apply the income of the charity in making grants for the purpose of public education in music in particular the development of musical theatre and classical singing. They must also establish amd maintain prizes or prize funds for these objects.

The object of the Society shall be to promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of, the art and science of music principally through choral singing in a mixed voice choir by the prsentation of public concerts and by other such ways as the Society through its committee [the trustees] shall determine from time to time.

2019 is the 50th Anniversary year of Harrogate Male Voice Choir.We give some 10-12 concerts during the year to raise funds for national and local charities such as the Royal British Legion, the Marie Curie Charity and the Clock Charity at Thirsk. This has also included combining with choirs from all parts of the UK performing at the Royal Albert Hall to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

To study and perform oratorio and other choral works and so educate interested sections of the public in the art and science of music by the presentation of concerts and other activities. This also includes enabling school children to aprticpate in concerts in front of a live audience and with a professional orchestra.

The promotion of the appreciation of four part harmony singing by a male voice choir

To promote the physical and mental wellbeing of people through the art of singing.

The Sitwell Singers is a mixed-voice Chamber Choir which rehearses regularly during term-time, covering a wide range of pieces from renaissance to the present day. We perform at least 5 public concerts p.a, often with professional instrumentalists and soloists and also arrange an annual "Come and Sing" event in which members of the public participate in the study and performance of a choral work

THE OBJECTS OF THE SOCIETY SHALL BE:TO ADVANCE, IMPROVE, DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN PUBLIC EDUCATION IN, ANDAPPRECIATION OF, THEART AND SCIENCE OF MUSIC IN ALL ITS ASPECTS BY ANY MEANS THE TRUSTEES SEE FIT,INCLUDINGTHROUGH THE PRESENTATION OF PUBLIC CONCERTS AND RECITALS.

Performs two Classical Choral work concerts a year, in various local venues with guest soloists. With the aim of encouraging singers starting out on their musical careers. Joins with others in a Summer Proms concert. Rehearses weekly, on Thursday evenings for about twenty-four weeks a year at the Parish Centre of St Mary the Virgin Church, Dover to prepare for concerts.

Washington U3A provide a list of activities for people who are retired 'but not retiring'These activities inlclude:- Digital photography and computing, family history, garden club, luncheons, ladies swimming, quiz, relaxation, pergamano, scrabble, dominoes, whist, singing, strolling, travel and walking.

The Orlando Singers is a chamber choir specializing in the performance of western sacred music. The choir is based in Dorset. Most concerts are given within southern England, but the choir also performs on tour in Europe. In addition to concert activity, The Orlando Singers regularly substitutes for cathedral choirs throughout England and Wales, has broadcast on BBC Radio and has made three CDs.

Arts/culture

Opera production for 4 performances during April. Autumn concert for 3 performances during October. "Lollipops" concerts - 3 or 4 during the year. Carol singing for charity collection in December. Opera Festival organised when funding allows.
