Arts Charities That specialise in Literature

We encourage education for all through the preservation of Bakewell's history and architecture via the Bakewell Old House Museum, a Grade II*House dating from 1534 which exhibits 9,000 objects in 13 rooms. Valley Park Community Association manages Valley Park Community Centre, local magazine the Valley Park Voice and facilitates numerous community events in furtherance of the states objects.

The Charities were combined from a number of small charities from the 1970s for the benefit of people living in the parishes of Epping and Theydon Garnon. Part of the money is used for relief in need and part is used for education grants to students under the age of 24. The charity has made gifts to the elderly at Christmas time, book grants to students and travel grants to students.

PRESERVATION OF THE LEGACY OF URGYEN SANGHARAKSHITA (1925 - 2018), FOUNDER OF THE TRIRATNA BUDDHIST COMMUNITY (FORMERLY FWBO), INCLUDING THE SANGHARAKSHITA LIBRARY, URGYEN HOUSE AND HIS LITERARY, PHOTOGRAPHIC AND AUDIO ARCHIVES, AIMING TO MAKE THESE ACCESSIBLE AS APPROPRIATE TO FUTURE GENERATIONS.

The CIO exists to promote the education of the public in the history of Carisbrooke Castle and the Isle of Wight by the provision of a museum for the maintenance and public exhibition of a collection of objects, artefacts, specimens, books and documents and pictures and the extension, enhancement, conservation and maintenance of the collection.

The Charity operates an annual festival of literature, the arts and the outdoors as well as outreach programmes for young people.

Operation of the Alpine Club Library; providing care of - and access to - the Alpine Club's collections of historic books, papers, archives, artefacts, photographs, and paintings. Open to the public on several days each week except during the month of August and the Christmas - New Year holiday time; for fixed appointments.

The charity produces a bi-annual journal and occasional newsletter. It holds an annual conference and an annual pilgrimage to the shrine of St Alban. An office is maintained to receive public enquiries, together with an extensive reference library and a website giving information about the Fellowship. Grants are awarded.

The company was established to promote, maintain, improve, develop and advance public education by the encouragement of the Arts, including opera, drama singing, mime, dancing, painting and sculpture, cinema, literature and other arts and in particular to provide and operate a Concert Hall in the City of Manchester.

To advance the Christian religion in the Midlands for the benefit of the public through the holding of prayer meetings, lectures, public celebration of religious festivals, producing and/or distributing literature on the Christian faith to enlighten others about the Christian religion

The charity owns a collection of modern and contemporary British children's books and related original artwork, manuscripts and archives. The charity makes the collection available to Seven Stories, The National Centre for Children's Books (registered charity 1056812) for use in exhibitions, educational activities, research and other programmes, for the public benefit.

The Society promotes and advances research and study on the psychological aspects of general practice with special reference to the doctor patient relationship and disseminates the knowledge beyond the Society for the improvement of the medical care of the public at large. The society does this through conferences,workshops,a lecture series,publications and advice to other organisations.

To advance education for the public benefit, in particular, but not exclusively, by providing alending library and reading room and facilities for educational and cultural activities for theresidents of the Cricklewood area of the London Borough of Brent and neighbouring districtsand for persons who work in or have a connection to the area.

Financial support for relief of poverty, local famine relief, drilling wells, for specific assessed individual education, building a Health Centre. Provision of: recycled computers, mobile phones, secondhand free spectacles, health education using Swahili literature. Annual Trustee and supporter trips to the area of operation and possible visits of Tanzanian pastors to UK for mutual edification.
