Arts Charities That specialise in Music

The study and practice of Choral music in order to foster public knowledge and appreciation of such music by means of public performance.

The choir is open to ladies over the age of sixteen regardless of culture. The choir participates in festivals throughout the country promoting choral activities to a wide audience. The choir also gives concerts throughout the year to the benefit of many local churches and charities including a local school for children with special needs.

The charity's activities are: the study, practice and performance of choral (and solo or ensemble) music in order to develop musical skills of members, entertain and generally benefit the general public, contribute to community cohesion in Steventon and the surrounding area and, through performances, to contribute to other charities and good causes.

REHEARSING AND PERFORMING CHORAL MUSIC

To learn, make and perform music through singing.

To promote teaching of the piano and the study of all aspects of piano playing and the teaching and training of piano teachers in Europe.

In pursuance of the choir's objectives to promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of the art and science of music in all its aspects, COLS presents three concerts each year together with other occasional musical activities.

THE ADVANCEMENT OF PUBLIC EDUCATION IN MUSIC AND THE FINE ARTS; AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF PUBLIC TASTE IN AND PUBLIC APPRECIATION OF MUSIC AND THE FINE ARTS

We are a choir singing mainly classical works in concerts twice or three times a year. We also perform in charity concerts, weddings, funerals and other events. Our membership is open to anyone over 16 years with an interest in singing.

We welcome young musicians to join our orchestra, Through the balanced, programming of repertoire, and the weekly rehearsal of musicians, with professional coaching, we prepare works to a performance standard and provide performance opportunities termly. We do not have a geographic constraint despite being named as in 'Reading' - we welcome members from as far as they are willing to travel.

The Friends of St Martin's Music supports music-making at the Church of St Martin in Roath, and encourages musical participation and education, both within and outside of the liturgy. This is achieved through fundraising and grant making to choral and organ scholars who are university students.

We help raise money for all kinds of charities by giving concerts locally, and throughout England, where we are usually invited by Welsh societies.

The charity organises social and fund raising events such as concerts dinners, coffee mornings, car boot sales, table-top sales, raffles and tombola etc. to raise money to support the work of HOTPEC Orphanage in Cameroon. The charity also runs a monthly club which anyone is welcome to join.

To promote the art of brass band music, particularly, but not exclusively, though the organising and staging of a brass band music festival in Pershore.

Music for the Memory uses singing to bring together local people from all walks of life with any form of mild to moderate dementia together with their carers in a friendly and fun activity.

The object of Raised by Music is: For the public benefit, to provide high quality music education and instruments to children attending primary school in Lambeth who are from backgrounds currently under-represented in classical music, by providing free daily tuition, instruments and sheet music.

The society is particularly concerned with lesser known British composers from the late 1800s to the middle years of the 20th Century. It is not generally a grant giving or commissioning body. The society issues a newsletter, journal and occasionally other books. It professionally records CDs. Its annual meetings usually incorporate some live music or other event.

Symphony Orchestra serving Wantage and the surrounding area, comprising a range of players from across the local community, all ages, including some school students. Performing several public concerts per year.

The advancement of education by the encouragement of the arts including the arts of drama, mime, dance, singing and music; particularly through the establishment of a theatre company to stage plays which have their inspiration or source in history.

A male voice choir who perform concerts at the invitation of charities to raise funds for their causes. The choir is self-financing and receives no support from elsewhere.

Provides facilities for singing, and learning to sing in a choral environment. Provides concerts of choral music,with full accompaniment with professional orchestra and national status soloists. Provides singers for charity events.

The Society aims to present first-class performances of a wide variety of choral music, working with first rate soloists and orchestras, to educate the public in the arts and sciences of choral music and to enhance the arts culture of the town. By rehearsing great choral works, the society promotes well-being and social cohesion among its members and the audiences.

Building people who influence the community by encouraging a culture of faith and prayer. Seeking to bring hope to the hopeless, joy to the sad, old and dejected and direction to the strength of the youths in the community.This would be done by starting a playgroup, musical instrument training, Sunday school, foodbank, Support & visits to community-based care facilities.
