Arts Charities That specialise in Music

Supporting Musical Activity in Cornwall. Grants for instrument purchase, tuition, travel, audition costs and courses for young players and singers. Predominantly classical musicians but some Brass Band and Jazz applicants considered.

We promote live classical music in Worcester and surrounds by presenting at least six concerts and one workshop during the season which lasts between September and March each year. We offer performance opportunities to young professional musicians and we especially look for artists with local connections.

Preparation, promotion and performance of public choral concerts.

To promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in the appreciation of the art and science of choral music in all its aspects by the presentation of public choral concerts and by such other ways as the members, through the trustees, shall determine from time to time.

The charity supports the provision of excellent music to support the worship in the Parish of Wantage including an annual grant to the Parish to pay for an organist to support the Director of Music and other payments appropriate to support the activies of the choir in furtherance of the objects. The Dickon Peschek Fund offers scholarships to young people.

Shrewton Silver Band operates primarily across Wiltshire, but also neighbouring counties, to advance, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of, the art and science of music, performing as a Brass Band. The band runs a training band (all ages) & main band to accommodate all abilities and perform at a range of public and community events.

The relief of widows, widowers and orphans of ministers, missionaries and accredited church workers of the Baptist denomination; and the relief of retired ministers, retired missionaries and retired accredited church workers of the Baptist denomination; in all cases who are conditions of need, hardship or distress in such ways as the trustees think fit.

R.D.C.S is a choral society which encourages a love of singing, membership is open to all and auditions are not needed. The season runs from September until June and two concerts are given each year with music chosen from a wide range of composers. Approximately 80 members sing with the society.

Sale Brass Band aims to promote, improve, develop and maintain public education andappreciation of the art of brass band music in all its aspects by the playing of public brassband concerts, tuition in the playing of brass instruments and by other ways that the banddetermines from time to time.

Bristol Fashion Chorus is an award winning ladies' chorus which strives for musical excellence in 4 part A-Capella singing. We sing primarily in the barbershop style and aim to encourage and develop the style through our chorus, quartets and small group performances. Our mission is to educate, support and enrich the lives of our diverse membership and share the gift of music with our audiences.

Weekly rehearsals of music, and regular performances.

We are a chamber orchestra, run by volunteers and having charitable status. Employing professional musicians - often past players from major orchestras, or promising young players - we provide St. Helens and surrounds with regular orchestral concerts and recitals of classical music. We are financed by ticket sales, fund raising activities, private sponsorship, and grants of public money.

Local amateur Symphony Orchestra giving 5-6 public concerts per year.

Worcester Competitive Arts Festival is a competition which takes place in March every year. There are classes for all age groups in music, singing, speech and drama. Some classes are for solo performers and others for larger groups, such as orchestras and choirs.

Supports The Centre for Young Musicians (CYM) providing resources and support for staff and students

Also supporting any other charitable purpose in any manner approved by law.

Rawtenstall Spiritualist Centre, holds weekly religious services for public worship combining prayer, philosophy, healing, a demonstration of evidential mediumship and inspirational and devotional music .

The Charity is an amateur orchestra that rehearses every Monday, except in August, and has a membership of approx 60. We perform three main concerts a year in different parts of Nottingham with the aim of bringing music to the community. Our ticket price is kept as low as possible, currently --?6/--?3, to encourage an audience. We are very friendly and anyone can play for a trial period of 4 weeks

We provide instruments, facilities and training for those wishing to develop new skills and an opportunity to develop these in public peformances. We assist local organisations and other charities to raise funds by putting on concerts and musical performances.
