Arts Charities That specialise in Music

The British Institute of Organ Studies (BIOS) exists to encourage and promote the study of the pipe organ, its history and design, and to increase appreciation and understanding of its music by both organists and the general public. The society serves effectively as the amenity society for the British organ and lobbies Governmentand other national bodies on behalf of the instrument.

To provide musical education and entertainment for the general public and for society members by preparing and giving concerts of classical choral music.

The promotion of the study and appreciation of the music and life of George Frideric Handel, research into the music of Handel and his contemporaries, and the publication of such research.

To educate the public in the dramatic and operatic arts to further the development of public appreciation and taste in the said arts (to assist and further such charitable institutions and charitable purposes as the Committee shall from time to time determine)

The study and practice of choral and orchestral music in order to foster public education in and appreciation of such music by public performance.

Making choral music available to all within our community. Staging normally four concerts annually at a variety of venues within the Farnham area.

The objects of the charity are primarily to advance public education in brass band music, in particular by encouraging musical training and the giving of musical programmes in public.

The Society was formed in 1972 with the aim of educating the public in the dramatic and operatic arts and to develop public appreciation of these arts. Over 80 shows have been produced throughout this period. Shows and concerts are performed with the Telford Area with "The Place" (the theatre) being used to stage the major shows.

To promote the advancement and improvement of general education in relation to all aspects of the arts of drama and music and the development of public appreciation of such arts

The principle activities of the Orchestra in the year under review are to promote live music by putting on concerts in the East Herts area including involving schools in children's and Christmas concerts, and to increase the standards of the local amateur musicians by engaging professional musicians to work and tutor.

To educate the public in the dramatic and operatic arts and to further develop public appreciation and taste in said arts, through:1. the staging of "live" opera and operetta performances and concerts at various public venues in Cornwall and Devon and 2. an education programme aimed at involving the wider community, by means of school workshops and masterclasses.

Youth Brass Band

We are a choir providing a musical education to our members. Anyone with musical ability may join and those in genuine financial difficulty are excused the annual fee. We support professional musicians by commissioning pieces from them and hiring them as soloists; and we raise funds for other charities through carol singing.

Educating the public in the Art and Science of Music by the rehearsal of choral music, the presentation of public concerts and other charitable activities.

Amateur Operatics

Managing the hall for the benefit of the local community to hold theatrical events, concerts, sporting and social events.

Upholding the English Choral Tradition by the preparation for and performance of, sacred and secular music for the general public.

The Havant Orchestras aim to perform to the highest standards an extensive range of orchestral music.

We meet every week to rehearse for concerts and other musical activities, which we perform at least four times a year. Every Christmas, we sing in a charity concert with all the proceeds being donated to a local charity.

To promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of the art and science of choral music in all its aspects by the presentation of public choral concerts and recitals and by such other ways as the Society through its commitee shall determine from time to time.

MIXED CHOIR WHO PERFORM TWO LOCAL CONCERTS EACH YEAR

To educate the public in dramatic and operatic arts, to further the development of public appreciation and taste in the said arts, to assist and further such charitable institutions and charitable purposes as the Executive Committee shall determine.

Promoting concerts and other such musical events in and around Oxfordshire

We mainly work within the Chorley, Lancashire area and provide support to Churches and other organisations. We are a Christian charity and support the work of local hospices and other caring charities. We sell Christian literature, CDs, DVDs, cards, music, etc. including church and school supplies. We carry a large stock. The shop was extended during 2011.

To foster the appreciation of music through promoting concerts for the benefit of the general public in South Cumbria.
