The aim of St. Mary's Church, Bourne Street, is to be a witness to the Catholic faith in the Church of England, drawing people (from a much wider area than its small parish) to the worship of God through Catholic teaching and practice, including traditional liturgy and fine music.

Registered charity Seaton Gateway Theatre Company have a 30year rolling lease of the building. A wide and varied range of activities and events are organised by the company to generate funds for new equipment, furnishings and ongoing maintenance. The aim is to bring Arts and Culture to Seaton for residents and visitors alike whilst ensuring sustainability of the building.
