To provide and maintain scout and cub activities and development for the young people of Calverton and the surrounding area

Highlight of the Group's year was celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Start of Sprotbrough Scouting and associated special events. In addition were the annual Sprotbrough Run and Gala; Cub Camp; Burns Night Ceilidh; visit to Sheffield Laserquest/Doncaster Paintball; a Scout Weekend at Crookestone Barn, Derbyshire. Centenary events included 2 Church Services; memorabilia exhibition; time capsule.

SCOUT GROUPTHE PURPOSE OF SCOUTING IS TO PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN ACHIEVING THEIR FULL PHYSICAL, INTELLECTUAL, SOCIAL AND SPIRITUAL POTENTIALS, AS INDIVIDUALS, AS RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS AND AS MEMBERS OF THEIR LOCAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITIES.

We run a Scout group which include Beavers & Cubs . Beavers runs for 1 hour and Cubs for 1 1/2 hours. Our aim is to provide a balanced programme to help young people achieve their Physical, Intelectual & social beliefs.

We provide a building in Yarmouth, Isle of Wight, in which rainbows, brownies and guides, beaver scouts, cub scouts and Yarmouth sea scouts can hold their meetings.

Youngsters earn profiency badges, take part in camps and community events, learn about themselves and the world around them, learn respect for themselves other people and the enviroment; all the time having fun and making friends in the world of scouting.

Provides activities to promote the mental, physical and spiritual growth of young people between the ages of 6 and 25 years old

Provides meeting place for local Scouts and Guide groups and also available for hire to other local groups and individuals.

Scouting for children between the ages of 6 and 14.

Voluntary social and educational organisation for girls and women Operated under the guidance of our World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts whose HQ is in London

Makes awards to young people, from 0-25yr in full time education, who live in the parish of Cridling Stubbs, or a parent does, for the education and social benefit i.e educational visits, music lessons and equipment, sports training, tuition fees at college & university, school uniform, cubs, scouts, guides & brownies.

THE AIM OF THE GROUP IS THE AIM OF THE SCOUT ASSOCIATION - TO PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN ACHIEVING THEIR FULL PHYSICAL, INTELLECTUAL, SOCIAL AND SPIRITUAL POTENTIAL, AS INDIVIDUALS, AS RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS AND AS MEMBERS OF THEIR LOCAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITIES.

KGSSA provides and maintains scouting and guiding facilities for the six scout and guide groups in the Rutland village of Ketton.
