The Charity has pursued its objectives during the period of advancement of the Muslim religion in the local area through holding of prayer and lecture meetings as well as religious instruction to local children. The British Somali Community is a women-led charity organisation that works to ensure enhanced civic participation and equitable access to services for BAME communities. Established in 1995 by and for the community, we provide invaluable services in educational attainment for children and young people, employment, paralegal advice, empowerment for women, and various forms of community support.

Barnabas Safe & Sound aims to prevent Youth Homelessness in Northumberland and safeguards young people from harm through the provision of services which deliver supported accommodation, informal education, accredited lifeskills and personal and social development activities. We also work in partnership and manage facilities for the benefit of children and young people.

The Pre-school has been in the community for 50 years and is now the only one in the area providing much need places for the local children. We provide high quality education and care for 2-5 year olds in a happy and stimulating environment, where we offer sessional places during term time. We off children the opportunity to learn through play based on the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum

The Charities activities consist of making grants to other charities/voluntary bodies in the medical, child protection and advancement, and the general sector. Its area of operation is mainly but not exclusively East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire

We support families through separation and divorce to reduce trauma that this can have on them and children involved. We offer a number of services supported and supervised contact (where there is a risk). Support groups for adults and children to assist them in moving forward positively. We also support children and families maintain or renew contact when they are separated through adoption.

Roundabout runs a daily term-time pre-school and toddler groups for parents/carers and their children on two mornings a week. We are inspected by Ofsted and received a grade of 'Good' in 2022. The focus of our preschool is on providing excellent free early years care and education for as many local families as possible.

Reading Islamic Centre provides a place of prayer and congregation for the Muslim community of Reading open to all men, women and children and elderly, and includes wedding and funeral services in accordance with the Islamic faith. Also it provides educational classes for both children and adults who are seeking to learn about Islam.

St Mary's provides a warm, welcoming and inclusive space for regular public worship, pastoral work, school collective worship and teaching Christianity alongside sacred space for personal prayer. Its community centre, St Francis,extends this care by hosting inclusive activities for senior citizens,parents,children and a variety of local groups,fostering connection and support across the community.

Home-Start offers support, friendship and practical help to parents in local communities throughout the UK, and with British Forces in Germany and Cyprus.Home-Start offers a unique service, recruiting and training volunteers who are usually parents themselves , to visit families at home who have at least one child under 5 and offer informal , friendly and confidential support.
