School parent teacher association - All our activities are fundraising events, in particular a Summer Fete and a Christmas Ball. Our aims are to provide enjoyable social activities for parents (Christmas Ball) and non-profit making social activities for the children (Treasure Hunt; Bedtime Stories). The FPTA also provides donations to other organisations.

Promotion of education (including social and physical training) of persons under the age of 25 years who are resident, or have a parent resident in Appleton Wiske, East Rounton, Picton and West Rounton in North Yorkshire.Provides grants to Appleton Wiske Primary School for benefits not normally provided by the education authority.

We hold various small events at the school i.e tombola, fayres, bingo - to raise funds for school projects and outings.

Raising money to provide the children of Childer Thornton Primary School with additional resources which fall outside of the school budget. These resources may be educational or recreational, they may also be to enhance the learning environment within the school. The Association also raises money for charities connected to the children and the school community
