The CTF is established for the advancement of education and the relief of poverty, suffering and distress amongst the students of Chundikuli Girls College and St Johns College and their community in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. The mosque (masjid) is open to all Muslims (men, women, children, and young people without any discrimination) to participate in the ritual Islamic worship whether in congregation or in private individual acts of worship. SEF CYMRU is a charity that seeks to address educational underachievement and improve community cohesion and social integration through various activities e.g. study clubs for children and courses such as ESOL, IT and sewing classes for women. The original purpose of the charity was to house 18 poor, elderly woman of Hay-on-Wye or the surrounding district. During 1973/74 extensive alterations were made to provide more modern accommodation for 12 women. Since 2002, with the conversion of a flat formerly used as warden accommodation, 13 women have been accommodated.

The main purposes of the Women's Institute organisation are to enable women who are interested in issues associated with rural life, including arts, crafts and sciences, to improve and develop conditions of rural life, to advance their education in citizenship, in public questions, in music, drama, all branches of agriculture, home economics, health and social welfare.

Our mission is to further research into Womb Transplantation, as well as other Fertility Sparing Surgical Procedures, by raising money for a clinical programme which would fully fund women wishing to undergo the procedure.

Activities for the local community including many with a youth focus 6 days of the week particularly concentrating on week day evenings. Also large women's groups of Somali and Bangladeshi ethnic origin, Tai Chi, Ball Room Dance, patchwork, Zumba, and heritage events for all associated with this internationally known centre.
