To preserve for the benefit of the public such of the historical architectural or constructional heritage as may exist in Surrey in the form of buildings, gardens, plant, machinery or monuments. The Trust may purchase, sell or restore buildings, make grants and provide advice to owners, work in conjunction with public or charitable bodies and foster interest by way of visits and lectures.

We make grants in order to relieve poverty and educate children and young people. To achieve this we recruit donors, keep existing donors informed of the projects funded by the charity via a website, a newsletter and Facebook. We hold events to raise funds and awareness of the charity from time to time.

To relieve financial hardship, distress and suffering among poor people, orphans, widows and other people in need by means of, but not exclusively, making grants or loans for providing or paying for items, equipment, services and facilities, including the provision of food, clean water, clothing and costs for attending school for the benefit of the said persons;

The trustees shall apply the income of the charity in relieving either generally or individually persons resident in the parish of Knaresborough who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress, by making grants of money or providing or paying for items, services or facilities calculated to reduce the need, hardship or distress of such persons.
