The making of grants to other charities and voluntary bodies.

To provide grants and loans to the residents of Charlwood, Lowfield Heath and Hookwood.

To provide education and entertainment for members of the general public by giving a wide range of affordable, concessionary theatrical performances and concerts of music, drama and dance in the Nottingham area. The main areas of work are for medical research and ecological conservation. Grants made in each year are split into approximately equal proportions between each area. The CGEF provides sponsorship grants to girls for secondary or high school education in their own Commonwealth country in cases where this might otherwise not be possible. Support is tailored to the individual needs of each girl based on academic potential, merit and need.

To provide grants for charitable purposes and to provide accommodation for those in need in Sherwood House and cottages.

Grant making

During the year the Trust received around 500 applications from referral agencies on behalf of clients in need; most of these were supported. Project grants to Community Associations and Schools were also supported. Beneficiaries must live within the boundary of the former Metropolitan Borough of St Pancras.
