The object of the Band is to promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of the art and science of music in particular brass band music by the presentation of public concerts and recitals and by such other ways as the Band through its Committee shall determine from time to time.

To encourage high standards of town and country planning and architecture. To stimulate public interest in the beauty & character of historic towns and villages. To unite local Amenity Societies and Parish & Town Councils in an effort to secure the features of historic and public interest. To advance the education of the public in the better understanding of social & economic changes.

To promote for the public benefit the preservation, protection, development and improvement of buildings, land & features of particular beauty or historical architectural or public interest in or around Whitstable. To promote the education of the public in the geography, natural history & architecture and in particular of young people in environmental studies in Whitstable.

The object is to advance the education of the public by collecting,preserving and exhibiting collections of period costumes and accessories connected therewith and to establish and maintain a public museum or place for storing.The main activities in relation to these objects are designing and mounting an annual exhibition and continuing the collection and care of the said objects.

The Charity continued its support of the Bursary scheme at Coventry University, specifically supporting candidates taking degree courses in Engineering and related subjects. The Charity also continued it's policy of considering other appropriate causes primarily in the Coventry, Warwickshire and Midlands region.

Campaigning to protect the countryside by submitting views to local councils on proposed building developments, presenting our views at public meetings on major development issues and discussing such views with local government representatives

THE DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG PEOPLE THROUGH A BALANCED PROGRAM IN LINE WITH THE SCOUT ASSOCIATION POLICY RULES AND ORGANISATION

TO PROMOTE, MAINTAIN, IMPROVE AND ADVANCE PUBLIC EDUCATION PARTICULARLY BY THE PROMOTION OF EDUCATIONAL DRAMA AND OTHER FINE ARTS ESPECIALLY THOSE ACTIVITIES WHICH SEEK TO MAKE THE ARTS RELEVANT TO THE COMMUNITY.

The objects of the trust deed are to make grants for general charitable purposes at the discretion of the trustees. In practice, a policy reflecting the interests of the settlers has been implemented, whereby grants are made under the following headings, health, homelessness, Quaker causes/institutions, support groups and third world. The trust does not accept unsolicited applications.

Activities are carried out in accordance with THe Scout Association Policy Organisation and Rules. These include camping, expedtions, canoeing, sports, social activities, music, human relationships and many more.All activities are regulated to siut the different age ranges and acheivemnts are gained through a series of award schemes
