The charity awards small grants to Royston residents in financial difficulty, including students needing help with fees and living-expenses. Applicants must be resident in the town, & a means test is applied. Application forms are available from the contact person, who is clerk to the trustees.

Grants to assist girls or women for education or training expenses after leaving primary school. Candidates must live in the Diocese of London, or the Diocese of Southwark within Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham, Southwark and Wandsworth, a member of the Church of England, and a present or past pupil for not less than two years of a school wholly or partly maintained out of public funds.

We make grants available to our member by way of Bursaries for educational purposes. We have a stall in the village Christmas Fayre selling Jams, chocolate tombola. This event enable us to raise money for the nominated charity for the current year .For our monthly meeting we hire very good speakers including craft, science and health Outings of educational interest are enjoyed throughout the year.

Solent Evening WI is part of the National Organisation. We are a voluntary organisation for women in the UK providing educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities, to form lasting friendships and to campaign on issues that matter to themselves and their communities.

The Statute Law Society was founded in 1968 and has members throughout Britain and abroad. The Society is a charitable body which aims to educate the legal profession and the public about the legislative process, with a view to encouraging improvements in statute law.
