The charity provides about 50 different learning groups to advance the education of the public and in particular the education of older people no longer in full time gainful employment in Northwood and its surrounding area.

The Friend's exists to support the work of St Mary's Hospital through grants for equipment not available from NHS Funds and to improve facilities for patients. It runs a Hospital Shop (Newspapers, magazines, cards, sweets and soft drinks) a Cafe and Tea Bar staffed by a mixture of paid staff and volunteers. It holds an annual Bazaar and raffle and holds flag days to raise funds.

Information, Advice & Guidance Centre; Training - Basic & Intermediate IT, First Aid, Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene; access to Solicitor, Citizens Advice Bureau, Housing & Council Tax Benefit surgery, housing surgery. Use of computers, printers, photocopier, fax, laminating, telephone.

To advance the education of the public by promoting, training and research in the field of psychoanalysis and child health of paediatricians, child psychiatrists and other professional persons and more particularly to promote the study of the work by Dr D. W. Winnicott and to disseminate the results thereof.

1. To advance education and to foster, promote and encourage the appreciation of harp music and the playing of the harp instrument and its history and heritage, through concerts, tuition and grants to aspiring harpists so they can develop their skills in harp playing; 2. to support such general charitable purposes as trustees deem appropriate by making donations to other charitable organisations

ACIE provides information and support about Independent Examination (IE = end of year 'audit' for smaller charities, see CC31 and CC32) to individuals and charities across the UK. This includes a training programme, annual conferences and a helpline. ACIE is a membership organisation, offering a professional designation to its 'Full Members' including Fellows (see also the Charities Act 2006).

The charity aims to tackle the root cause of poverty, basic needs such as food, water, health and education. The African Bird Club gives grants to individuals and groups in African countries to support a wide range of small to medium-sized projects there that benefit the conservation of African birds or their habitats.
