The charity gives grants to UK and foreign agencies for education and missionary work. These grants include the "Bernard Mizeki" award which funds ministry given by the laity and Father Benson scholarships, awarded to seminarians at St Stephen's House Oxford to help those engaged in higher theological study.

The activities of the Trust comprise the rental of land and property and the management of an investment portfolio. All assets are held in order to provide funds for donations. The management of the assets is undertaken by agents on behalf of the Trustees and under their instruction.

Religious Activities. The Charity exists to advance the education of the public in the principles of Buddhism and to encourage and promote the study and application of those principles.

The Trust was established primarily for the benefit of the population of rural villages and towns within the boundary of the old North Riding of Yorkshire. Whilst most contributions go to established charities, all good causes will be considered and investigated. Only in extremely rare and special circumstances does the Trust make donations to individuals or charities outside the specified area.

It is the policy of the Charity to engage in a broad range of Charitable activities: Education, Health Care, Pastoral, Spiritual, Social Care and Financial help in U.K. and Ireland. We fund two projects in Bosnia providing palliative care for the terminally ill. In all our activities we try to respond where the need is greatest.

The Trust provides grants to a range of institutions and individuals to help them deal with immediate needs. The Trust also supports a number of charities, particularly those engaged in caring for and educating children and young people in Bristol and the South West of England.
