The Alliance acts as an independent voice for the voluntary and community sectors within Gloucestershire working to strengthen the VCS in the county. The Charity has established and conducts Citizens Advice Bureau in Saffron Walden and Great Dunmow to provide a free confidential and impartial service of advice, information and counsel for the public. It also provides an outreach advice service from premises in Thaxted and Stansted

The main objective of the Trust is the 'advancement of public education in and the appreciation of the art and science of music'. It achieves this through funding a wide range of music related activities at state primary, secondary and tertiary levels and supporting the performance of live classical music by local (mainly amateur) music societies.

Campaigning for & the funding where appropriate of: 1.Fully trained, inspired, compassionate Bereavement Midwives2.By making the best use of hospital architecture & layout,funding sensitively designed delivery rooms located away from maternity wards.3.Necessary equipment in each maternity unit to preserve a stillborn baby until at least the day after the mother's discharge from hospital.
