Alternatives provides mental health and holistic wellbeing support to marginalised women, and by extension their families, living in Newham. We do this by offering free and accessible talking therapy, through advocacy support and community projects and by providing meaningful volunteering and employment opportunities.

The aims of the AEF are to establish a holistic and Islamic education for the child from birth till the end of school, using the Montessori method and the values and principles of the Islamic Faith. The development and supervision of Girlguiding activities in an area of North and East London broadly covering the boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Newham, Redbridge and Waltham Forest, including the operation and development of Chigwell Row Campsite and Outdoor Activity Centre.

Community Rersources for Change seeks to support isolated members of the community through befriending, lobbying and offering advocacy. Various services and courses are offered, with the help of volunteers, to empower vulnerable people.The charity also runs a community coffee shop.

Excel Women's Centre is a dedicated charity to improve Health & Wellness of Women and their families in Barking & Dagenham and surrounding boroughs by providing information, advice and guidance in areas of Welfare, Housing and Health, Skills and Training and employability, homework club, Sport activities and User led Community Wellness Cafe with leisure and social activities
