Stewartby Pre-School is a small Pre-School for 36 children. It is in a lovely setting and provides good high quality childcare for 2 and half year olds to 4 years old.Stewartby Pre-School is graded as a three times Outstanding setting by Ofsted in 2010.2015 and 2019 and we pride ourselves on making sure every child reaches their full potential while they our with us.

The distribution of the trustees net income from investments and rents to further its aims, being to benefit the education of deprived children and others aged less than 25. The Trustees intend to award grants each year which approximate to the forecast amount of Net Income for that year.

To hire halls and meeting rooms at Great Denham Community Hall to bring classes and activities into the community. To raise funds from the hires and restrict any surpluses for community events, education and recreation. Bring the community together in the hall to events that encourage participation and further community engagement.

Our main focus is operating a foodbank to our town and surrounding villages, 6 days a week and we deliver to our servicer users. Our foodbank operates a self referral system, both on line and over the phone, making it very private. We also operate a Community Fridge, a check in and chat cafe, prescription collection service and support services to those homeless and in hardship.

Art Galleries/Museums

The Trustees usually only award Grants to Charitable Organisations based in Bedfordshire or for work in Bedfordshire. Priority will be given to grants for capital projects and not for running costs.

Term time only playgroup for pre-school children aged between 2 years to 5 years.

Provide help and support to women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and who are considering the possibility of a breast reconstruction following mastectomy. The Group also provides support to those who have recovered from breast cancer and are considering reconstruction some time later. The Charity holds regular Support Group meetings that are open to all patients.

Replaced 5 old pens with 11 pens and one large cat unit, which comply with new legislation for boarding catteries, keeping in front of any proposed future legislation on animal accommodation for animal rescue groups. Commenced replacements for the remaing facilities. We have continued with our ever important spaying and neutering work and education on animal welfare.

Delivering sport and physical exercise, community welfare projects together with nature-based activities to address health and wellbeing in the community

Grants made by the Trust help fund the religious purposes of St. Andrew's Church, Bedford, the provision of its community centre and the advisory service provided to people in financial difficulties, in accordance with the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit

Sectional based competitions and camps. St Georges Day parade and carol service, Christingle service. Various fundraising activities. Promotion of scouting through local media facilities.

Provide full-time childcare for 2, 3 and 4yr old children from Turvey and the surrounding areas. Provide a Before School Club and After School Club for children attending Turvey Lower School.

Bedford Ladies and Girls Football Club offers opportunities for girls and ladies to play association football at an amateur level. The club offers Walking Football, and runs after-school sessions to allow more girls to try football and encourage them to consider playing.Youth teams play in the FA Bedfordshire Girls League. Ladies teams play in the Eastern Region Womens Football League.

We support and empower deaf children and young adults from birth up to the age 30, and their families, who are predominantly based in Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas, through the provision of:Recreational and leisure activities; training opportunities; one to one and group support; Deaf Awareness, Sign Language and other courses.
