THE CONGO TREE RUNS A LIFE AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME WHICH USES PEER-LEARNING TO DEVELOP SKILLS IN CREATIVE PROBLEM-SOLVING, STRATEGIC FUTURE PLANNING AND SELF-DIRECTED LEARNING.THE PROGRAMME BEGINS WITH AN INTENSIVE TRAINING RETREAT, ONE FOR LEADER MENTORS AND A SEPARATE ONE FOR YOUNG LEADERS WHO ARE THEN PAIRED UP IN A MENTORING RELATIONSHIP FOR A MINIMUM PERIOD OF 12 MONTHS.

The income from the Trust is applied for the purpose of advancing the work of deaconesses and female deacons within the Diocese of St Albans under the guidance of the Lord Bishop of that Diocese.

The Sea Cadets Corps is a uniformed youth development organisation with a nautical theme that uses experiential adventure in an informal setting to enable young people, both male and female, from 10 to 18 years old to gain skills for life such as: communication, strategy, forethought, good listening skills, discipline and team work whilst having 'serious fun.'

Our mission is to empower young people to fulfil their potential and take action on issues affecting their future. Our major focus is improving the livelihoods of young people both in the developed and developing world through employability and entrepreneurial trainings. We are currently working with disadvantaged young women in West Africa and in primary and secondary schools in the UK.

Fund raising charity for the local school Great Denham Primary School.

To relieve the needs of individuals, charities and other organisation in Bedfordshire by donations, grants and other financial assistance and also by, the provision of goods or services.

Provides advocacy / advice and information. Acts as an umbrella resource. Holds cultural events. Address inequalities within service provision. Carries out community development activities.

Museum, basically of farming and rural life in the area, but including other displays of wider interest and appeal, and demonstrations from a wide selection of skills and crafts on open days. Open to the general public 9 days a year, see website for times and dates; open for private parties by arrangement, see website for further details. Ample free parking; ~90% wheelchair access.

Community Larder is one of our two primary projects. This project takes fresh food waste, short life fresh food or surplus stock and distributes it to those in need. We aim to give our Service Users the choice within food groups and promote a healthy balanced diet including protein. The food groups are bread, cakes, pastries, vegetables, fruit, meat, fish, cheese, eggs and vegan products.

PROVISION OF EMERGENCY ACCOMMODATION AND SUPPORT SERVICES TO HOMELESS PEOPLE IN LEIGHTON LINSLADE AND SURROUNDING AREAS

We fund memorable days and short respite breaks and provide financial support for those affected by cancer living in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire.

The Village hall provides a venue to hire for meetings, classes and local groups.

For the benefit of the public to relieve the suffering of rabbits in need of care and attention and, in particular, to provide and maintain rescue homes or other facilities in Cambridgeshire for the reception, care and treatment of such animals and to educate the public in matters pertaining to animal welfare in general and the prevention of cruelty and suffering among animals.

Management of village hall hired to local groups and general public.

PROVIDE TRAINED RESOURCES TO THE POLICE AND OTHER STATUTORY AUTHORITIES TO SEARCH FOR, AND RECOVER, MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC WHO HAVE GONE MISSING, PARTICULARLY IF THEY ARE CLASSIFIED AS VULNERABLE. WORK PRIMARILY FOR THE BEDFORDSHIRE AND HERTFORDSHIRE POLICE AUTHORITIES. ALSO ASSIST OTHER SEARCH & RESCUE TEAMS AS REQUIRED.

Events and fund raising for Lower School pupils by pupils and parents.
