The Friends of St James, Biddenham, is an independent charity which allows anyone who values St James's Church as a focal point in village life to contribute to the "preservation, repair, maintenance, restoration, improvement and ornamentation" of the fabric of the church and church barn and also of the land, plants and structures within the curtilage of the church and graveyard.

We are a charitable organisation for the public benefit, the relief of sickness and the preservation and saving of life through the provision of first aid by fully trained first aiders at public events in the East of England.

To provide a centre for the inhabitants of Biggleswade and for such other charitable purposes for the benefit of said inhabitants as the Trustees will determine at their discretion.

Organizing an annual athletic meeting for people in Bedfordshire with a learning disability

Craft classes/exercise classes/meetings/social functions/birthday parties etc.

To provide help and relief for those in need who are resident in the village of Thurleigh, Bedford.

ASSISTANCE TO FORMER AND CURRENT POST OFFICE WORKERS INCLUDING BRITISH TELECOMMUNICATIONS

The charity gives relief to the elderly, poor, sick & disabled residents within Tempsford Parish & gives grants to any organisation which assists such people. Additionally, the charity provides financial support for those preparing for their career or entering into the place of work.

Hiring of Village Hall for village community use and for surrounding communities, clubs, organisations and individuals.

We are a small charity and help the disabled people and children in the Dunstable areaby having coach outings to seasides and zoos -three times a year.We also take handicapped people to a local theatre show once a year.We also help out at Gateway club in Dunstable every Thursday in the Year by attending the club to play table tennis,billards and other activities.

School Fundaising

Supporting, coordinating and giving advice and information to visible ethnic voluntary organisations; Liaising with funding and regional development organisations to ensure that the needs of the visible minority ethnic voluntary organisations are addressed; Mapping the visible minority ethnic voluntary sector in the eastern region.

Our charity operates in the areas of Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Bedfordshire, Suffolk and Hertfordshire.Our fundraising activities include bingo's, dances, collections in supermarkets, the selling of merchandise with the charity logo on and other events held and supported by the wider community.
