MYF CIO provides and maintains a village hall for the use of the local community.The trustees of the CIO along with a committee of volunteers put on 6-8 fundraising events throughout the year to raise money to look after the building and to boost the morale of the local community.

To raise capital to continue to highlight and develop the rich heritage of the coal industry of the aber valley. We have built a memorial garden also, developed a museum both to the 1901 ad 1913 mining disasters that occurred in the aber valley when 521 men and boys lost their lives from devastating explosions .The later 1913 disaster taking 440 lives whih was the third largest in the world .

Education and training young people between ages of 6years to 14 years in accordance with the Scout Association's policy organisation and rules. These activities pursued in the Caerphilly area.

A Christian witness to the community and surrounding area, to provide a place for worship,fellowship and teaching the Christian faith. To support directly and indirectly the proclamation of the Good News at home and abroad.

To provide tuition to young people (and older) in the creative art of playing brass instruments, to promote the brass band to an increasingly wider audience. To support other charitable organisations through music.

To protect and preserve native hedgehogs by providing appropriate care, treatment and temporary shelter to hedgehogs in need. To provide a telephone helpline to advance education and support the general public/vets around the conservation and welfare of hedgehogs and their habitats. To promote environmental protection by supporting conservation and education. Providing volunteering and training.

We provide & manage a meeting place for village activities

We are a very active Scout Group - Beavers, Cubs & Scouts all enjoy the benefits of camping, hiking, kayaking and various other water sports, archery and lots of badge work developing skills for life.

Newport Borough Brass is a traditional British brass band. The Band, as its name suggests is based in Newport, Gwent in South East Wales where it operates. The Band has a very professional outlook and plays at local fetes, concerts, private and public functions, in addition the Band is a contesting band and is currently in the 2nd Section nationally and in the 2nd section in Wales.

To provide the development of young people in achieving their full potential, providing enjoyable activities all based on scout association promise and law.

The Association provides a hall for the use of Senior Citizens in the locality.Activities are organised for members:-1. Which members find entertaining, interesting and generally beneficial.2. Also to raise funds to finance activities such as organised trips and the running costs of the hall.

To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Bedwas & Trethomas area & the neighbourhood, without distinction of sex, political, religious or other opinions by associating the local authorities, voluntary orgs and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education & to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation, leisure time, occupation & conditions of life for the inhab

The Youth Centre, Cefn Hengoed provides activities to a diverse group of young people between the ages of 12 - 25. The youth workers are provided by the local authority. The managment committee manage and maintain the building. The centre also provides accommodation for other valuable organisations within our Communities First area.

MAKES GRANTS FOR GENERAL CHARITABLE PURPOSES. PROVIDES PRACTICAL ASSISTANCE TO EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENTS.

We hold classses in sewing, crafting, yoga, various computer classes, government exercise referral scheme,history and Art. The centre is also the venue for the slimming club, computer club, family history society,and quilting group. We provide a facility for Citizens Advice one morning a week, and also Communities First Drop InCentre, one day a week. Local groups hold meetings.

The Church is a worshipping and witnessing community.The weekly activities of the Church are open to people from the community.Weekly meetings include a meeting for primary age children, to which children from families living in the community come.The Church provides care and support to both members of the Church and others connected with the Church.

FFRINDIAU YSGOL GYMRAEG CWM GWYDDON IS A PARENT, TEACHERS AND FRIENDS ASSOCIATION, WHICH RUNS EVENTS TO RAISE ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR THE SCHOOL.

To advance the education of pupils accessing the school in particular by developing effective relationships between staff, parents and children by running family events throughout the year at the school which all families can access. We provide equipment , resources, and facilities which support the school and pupils education formally and informally.

Mens Walk & Talk Group for men to improve their physical and mental health

At present this charity operates a free, professional counselling service in Merthyr Tydfil and the surrounding areas for people aged 5 to 105

Gwent Arts in Health (GARTH) promotes and develops an arts and health programme for the patients and general public in healthcare and community settings throughout the Gwent area. GARTH was founded to ensure that the benefits of creative programmes within healthcare settings could be developed across all hospitals and health facilities in the Gwent area.
