SCHOOL PARENTS ASSOCIATION

Wincle PTA aims to raise money for Wincle Primary School, Cheshire. It is made up of members from parents, teachers and local community. The money we have raised during this tax year is going towards the cost of trips, clubs and educational resources for Wincle School and Twincle Nursery .

Provision of arts, primarily choral concerts

Village hall available to local community for events, workshops, classes, exhibitions, fundraising and parties.

Raising funds to purchase extra items for school and for the children.To provide the pupils with enriching activities.To develop a community.

A choir of about 60 amateur singers, trained and conducted by a professional musician who is the musical director. Weekly rehearsals, 4 concerts a year in different venues, using professional soloists & sometimes linking with other local choirs and orchestra. Provides the opportunity for singers to train & perform to a high standard & for local audiences to hear a wide variety of Choral music.

Sale Brass Band aims to promote, improve, develop and maintain public education andappreciation of the art of brass band music in all its aspects by the playing of public brassband concerts, tuition in the playing of brass instruments and by other ways that the banddetermines from time to time.

We work with the school, parents, pupils and local community to put on a range of events such as school disco's, film nights and fairs. These help build the school community and raise funds which are used to purchase a range of goods and services that help advance the education of pupils at our school.

The Friends of Weston Village Primary School (FWVPS) organises events to raise funds for the benefit of the school and the children, e.g. additional classroom and outdoor equipment. Some of these events are for the parents and the children of the school and others are open to, or involve, the public. The events are organised by the Committee of the FWVPS together with the school.

To encourage the development of young people in Stalybridge and Tameside to achieve their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, so that they can take a constructive place in society as responsible citizens, achieved by providing an enjoyable scheme of progressive training based on the scout association vision Skills for Life guided by adult leadership.

We run a drop-in centre two days a week for homeless and disadvantaged people.We provide drinks and toast during the morning and a lunch from 12 noon.We provide advice and assistance in areas of Benefits, Housing and Employment We have leisure facilities of various kinds, and laptop computers are availableWe provide tents, sleeping bags, and clothing as required

Weekly rehearsals of classical orchestral music for the pleasure and development of members of all ages. Public performances given in Alderley Edge and other Cheshire locations for the enjoyment of the audience and to raise money for other charities. Young people encouraged to attend by nominal charge. Annual Workshop, open to members and non-members, held to study more complex works.

Fund raising by means of fayre's and various other events

The PTFA organises social events for parents, children and friends of Hermitage Primary School. Funds raised are used to purchase equipment for drama, IT, sports and the library in the school.

Village hall operated for the benefit of the village and surrounding area. Management committee comprising elected officers and members from each organisation using the hall facilities running costs subsidised by parish council grant.

Friendship and fellowship and learning skills

To purchase and provide books, periodicals, maps and specimens of art and science for any library provided and maintained by the library authority, for the urban district of Nantwich.

Research and information on the life and works of Elizabeth Gaskell, and the promotion of her works through talks, conferences, seminars, publications, outings and any other appropriate activities.

The object of East Cheshire Quaker Meeting is the furtherance of the general religious and charitable purposes of the Religious Sociery of Friends (Quakers) in Britain in the area of East Cheshire Quaker Meeting and beyond
