Allotment Society

We run a Parent and Toddler Group in our local village. This takes place on a Monday between 9:30am - 11:30am to support local parents / carers / childminders and grandparents of children of pre-school age (0-4). Accompanying adults are required to stay with their child(ren); the organisers / volunteers do not hold supervisory responsibility.

We hold various fundraising events to support the school financially with extra opportunities for the children

THE OBJECTIVES OF CASS ARE:-1) TO PROVIDE THE NECESSARY FACILITIES FOR THE DAILY CARE, RECREATION AND EDUCATION OF CHILDREN DURING OUT OF SCHOOL HOURS AND SCHOOL HOLIDAYS2) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION AND TRAINING OF THE PERSONS IN THE PROVISION OF SUCH CARE, EDUCATION AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES.

Acts on behalf of the Landowners of the parishes of Old Hutton, New Hutton and Killington regarding the fishing rights on Killington Reservoir and makes donations to specified organisations in the three parishes.

To relieve the needs of persons suffering from pulmonary fibrosis, primarily, but not exclusively, in the Morecambe Bay area by raising awareness of the lung disease pulmonary fibrosis and to support group activities.

TO PROVIDE RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES AND FUND SPORTING ACTIVITY

The Campaign held an Annnual General Meeting on June 6th 2018 at which the Accounts for the year were presented. The secretary gave a report outlining our activities. We held events which highlighted the importance of buying Fairtrade goods for the producers in the developing world. We wrote articles and gave talks on the benefits of Fairtrade.

Annual grants are made to individuals residing within the parishes ofCaldbeck and Castle Sowerby to promote their education, including social and physical training. These are made in accordance with the principles and doctrines of the Church ofEngland and the Methodist Church.

To advance amateur sport in South Lakeland and the surrounding areas by the provision of coaching,equipment and facilities for sailing. The charity currently owns three 'FEVA' sailing dinghies which are made available for Royal Yachting Association training courses on Lake Windermere.
