The Bovey Shed is first and foremost a social refuge where anyone in Bovey Tracey or thesurrounding area can come and have a chat, a cup of tea or coffee and at least a biscuit or two. We meet, we talk, we drink tea. Well, ok, sometimes we put our heads together and create the odd bird box or bee hotel or repair the odd chair or bench and we have fun doing it and we do get some larger projects!

We provide a 'time off' for carers, looking after their dependent in a safe environment; provide a range of varied activities and socialisation for lonely or bereaved ; provide opportunities for volunteers. We offer soup and a roll, refreshments, cake etc for £5. Since Covid we are currently only open between 12.45 and 4.15 on Wed. We hope to resume longer sessions as confidence returns.

SKAIGH WOOD TRUST OWNS AND MANAGES A SMALL WOOD WITH OPEN ACCESS FOR THE PUBLIC. ITS MANAGEMENT AIMS TO PROVIDE SAFE RECREATION AND TO MAINTAIN THE ECOLOGICAL QUALITY OF THE WOOD AND ITS BORDERING RIVER AND PASTURE LAND.

1) Habitat creation in two fields to the north of Roborough Village in North-central Devon. The rewilding of this area to increase species number and diversity.2) The promotion of the theory of rewilding through open days, talks and other activities and the education of the public.3) Fundraising in order to acquire more land and facilitate the operation of the charity.

FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF PEOPLE IN DEVON, CORNWALL AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS, WHO HAVE SUFFERED BEREAVEMENT BY THE RECENT SUDDEN DEATH OF A CHILD OR SIBLING THROUGH TRAGIC ACCIDENT, PARTICULARLY (BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY) BY PROVIDING GRANT FUNDING TO ASSIST BENEFICIARIES TO RECEIVE BEREAVEMENT COUNSELLING OR THERAPY OR TO SUPPORT FAMILY ACTIVITIES.

Maintenance of a building for the purpose of community meetings and social events within Sheepstor village and the parish of Burrator

A local talking newspaper providing a free weekly service for the visually impaired.

Grants to voluntary sector youth leaders for instructor training.

Having fun and raising money for local causes in Tavistock and surrounding areas.

Huntshaw Parish Hall is a village hall for use by the community for events, parties, skittles, quiz nights etc, with the main purpose of bringing a small rural community together in a common meeting place. The Hall is also available to hire by the public.

The Kent Kingdon Trust exists to purchase books for the Westcountry Studies Library and works of art for the Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter.

Makes financial grants for religious purposes

The maintenance of the parish church of St Mary's Berry Pomeroy

Running Christian Retreats, Conferences, Fellowship meetings, and Gatherings, for the purpose of affording religious instruction and spiritual help to those attending and counselling those in need of spiritual guidance and instruction.

The trustees follow a general policy of distributing the trust's income whilst maintaining the substance of the trust's investments to enlarge its grant-giving potential.

Provides a Toddler Group for children aged 0 to 5 years

support the local school at Widecombe and students under 25 years of age and still in full time education

The Pynsent Exhibition Foundation is an old Chudleigh charity, which provides modest grants for the 18 - 25 year olds of Chudleigh, attending Full Time Further and Higher Education.

The charity exists to help maintain Washfield Church (St. Mary the Virgin) , its churchyard and fabric.

1. To relieve people resident in the area of Ashburton who are in need, hardship, or distress.2. To assist young people from Ashburton, either resident in the area or attending education establishments in the area, who are in similar need, to pursue their education through grants towards either fees or maintenance OR in the provision or support of education in the area.

Maintenance of the fabric of Galmpton Parish Church and other religious purposes in the parish of South Huish. Other charitable objects within the S. Huish District Church Council as the Trustees shall decide.
