SUPPORT OF HANDICAPPED PEOPLE FROM CORNWALL

Annual payments to deserving children/groups of children, resident in the parishes of Kilmington or Axminster

To assist those people in need of "financial relief in need" within the Parish of Payhembury, Honiton, Devon.

The Campaign promotes cycling for the public benefit in and around Exeter for: 1. promotion of public health2. promotion of healthy recreation in the interests of social welfare3. promotion of public safety, particularly on the highways4. advancement of educationby means including provision of cycling facilities, services, education, and raising matters regarding cycling and transport.

We are a small youth group primarily operating in Weare Giffard but open to children in the surrounding areas. Our primary aim is to provide a safe and relaxed environment for the local youth to meet and socialise with their friends in a rurally isolated village. We do a varied range of activities both indoors and out including pool, table football, art and craft, team games etc.

THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF POVERTY

Primary aim is to care for the beauty, history and character of Tiverton Town and its environs. Motto - Watch & Ward. Organise range of lectures, information plaques, heritage walks and social activities. Keep in close touch with the Town, Mid Devon District and Devon County Councils. Registered with Civic Trust and Outer SW Federation of Civic Societies and member of Devon Conservation Forum.

Environmental interpretation in the field for educational groups and members of the general public. We publish booklets with landscape themes, based on a walk in areas of interest. Our booklets are sold from our web-site website www.thematic-trails.org. and through outlets in selected areas of particular interest. We also market selected booklets published by like-minded organisations.

CHRISTIANS FROM LOCAL CHURCHES WHO PATROL THE STREETS OF TAVISTOCK AT WEEKENDS FROM 10PM TO 2AM. WE AIM BY OUR PRESENCE TO REDUCE THE FEAR OF CRIME, BRING A LISTENING EAR, PROVIDE PRACTICAL HELP AND SIGNPOST FOLK TO AGENCIES FOR ASSISTANCE. WE ALSO PROVIDE SUPPORT AND A CARING PRESENCE AT TAVISTOCK COLLEGE EACH WEDNESDAY. WE WORK IN PARTNERSHIP WITH DEVON AND CORNWALL POLICE, AND LOCAL COUNCILS.

Fundraising for benefit of Holsworthy College- a secondary school in a rural area. Funds are donated for equipment.

Work with local traders, residents, groups, volunteers and Councils to develop an approach to maximising the opportunity for people to shop locally; for visitors to be able to Stop, Shop, Eat, Explore Modbury .To maximise the historic value of the town.To improve the aesthetics of the town.To provide small sums to help local activities which improve the quality of life in the town.

FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES TO ASSIST IN ADVANCING AND ENHANCING THE EDUCATION OF THE PUPILS AT OUR SMALL SCHOOL IN DEVON

The Tavistock Physically Challenged:-We enable people with disabilities to access opportunities for social interaction and support. There are about 30 members and 10 volunteers and we all meet twice a month, either for luncg or after-noon tea all over Devon and Cornwall, or we have speakers,games and musical after-noons.

Community environmental promotional work including community composting and growing vegetables organically using the compost

A weekly recorded talking newspaper for people in the Dawlish and Teignmouth area of Devon, with little or no sight and anyone who has difficulty handling or reading a printed newspaper.

Holds public events such as talks and observing sessions; provides access to equipment such as telescopes and binoculars so that the public can enjoy views of planets, stars, galaxies and other objects in space for themselves; provides information and advise that enables the public to explore the night sky for themselves and provides facilities and access to open spaces for astronomy.

Assisting vulnerable people on the streets of Barnstaple on Saturday nights and early Sunday mornings..

Allies Mid Devon fundraise for projects requested by residents of Mid Devon , and that are not the responsibility of any other body. Allies Mid Devon also make grant payments to support other local charities for projects that fulfil our objects. Ideas for projects are sought by surveys, conversations, and through social media, and are judged primarily by their beneficial impact.
