The Society strives to support and promote choral singing in the community; to improve the standard of singing of the Choir members through teaching and rehearsal. It particularly aims to recruit younger members. It aims to perform concerts at least once a year.

Fundraising events for the school

To advance the education of the public in, and in the appreciation of, the visual, applied, performing and written arts in all their aspects particularly (but not exclusively) by promoting events of all kinds at The Eype Centre for the Arts as St. Peter's Church in Eype, Dorset, and at other venues.

Transition Towns Weymouth and Portland is linked to the broader national Transition Towns network. Our aim is to both instigate and support positive action toward a more sustainable Weymouth and Portland through projects, working groups and community engagement. Growing and learning are key themes and we have held a wide range of events and a very successful Climate Change conference.

Village and community hall for the parish of Crossways

We maintain a healthy membership upwards of 60 attending Wednesday evenings. The Corona Virus has forced us to replace face to face rehearsals with Zoom meetings, and all concerts have been cancelled. We have had small numbers of personnel at our hall when lockdown restrictions permitted. We continue to support our venue and our musicians to maintain relationships for the future.

We provide and maintain a Village Hall.

Encourage the breeding of Dorset Down Sheep and maintain the purity of the breed

Our purpose as a charity is to advance the education of pupils Sixpenny Handley First School and Nursery, in particular by:1. Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school.2. Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

(i) Award scholarships, exhibitions, bursaries, maintenance allowances or grants to students (or former students under the age of 25 years) completing their highest education at university or other educational institution approved by the trustees.(ii) Provide additional financial resources to enable students to broaden their education by joining organised school visits outside the UK.

The Emissaries invite participation in regular teleconference services and the sharing of attunements. Other activities include associates' gatherings, educational seminars, workshops and trainings. The charity enjoys mutually collaborative relationships with other organisations including Emissaries of Divine Light (Colorado).

To provide sporting activities on the Alderholt recreation ground

We operate a weekly Day Centre all day every Monday for the lonely, elderly, disabled and housebound people in the Lytchett Minster & Upton area. We run outings, boat trips and an annual 8 day holiday for them.

The Simon Read Foundation grants Gifts to children and young people between 5 - 17yrs whohave life limiting disabilities, chronic or terminal illnesses in the form of holidays, adventuredays, treats, trips and respite with their family who would otherwise be unable to undertakethese activities due to financial hardship

Provide and maintain a village hall for the use of the community

The charity is run by parents, friends and school staff, with the purpose of raising funds for the school to provide activities, facilities or equipment.

The charity makes grants for (i) the upkeep of the Portman Family chapel at Bryanston (ii) support for the Friends of Blandford Hospital and (iii) support for the ecclesiastical and charitbale purposes of (a) Durwerston and Bryanston PCC (b) Blandford Forum PCC and (c) Blandford St Mary PCC

Research into rheumatic diseases

The Purbeck Arts Choir, based in Swanage, Dorset, currently numbers over 60 singers of all abilities; there are no auditions, and is led by our inspiring musical director David Fawcett. At least two public concerts are held annually plus other musical events with the Purbeck Art Weeks and the local community and school children.
