Teaching, training and organizing events for young Chess players in the North East of England

WE RUN A COMMUNITY HUB OFFERING A ONE STOP SHOP FOR LOCAL TRANSPORT AND OTHER INFORMATION, SERVICE SIGN POSTING, COMPUTER AND CRAFT COURSES AND A UKONLINE CENTRE. THE HUB ALSO HOSTS THE WEARDALE COMMUNITY TRANSPORT OPERATION. WE HAVE BEEN RUNNING A PROJECT CALLED 'SONG AND DANCE' TO ENCOURAGE MUSIC, MOVEMENT AND SONG.

The rescue and rehabilitation of ill, injured, orphaned, unwanted, or confiscated wild and exotic animals, by providing rescue and treatment facilities. Also, the provision of educational opportunities to the public on the subject of wildlife and the environment.

THE CHARITY OPERATES IN THE WEAR VALLEY AND WEARDALE AND IS SEEKING TO OPERATE THE EMPIRE BUILDING IN CROOK AS A CINEMA AND THEATRE WITH ADDITIONAL ARTS FACILITIES TO FURTHER EDUCATION IN THE ARTS. UNTIL THE EMPIRE BUILDING HAS BEEN PURCHASED THE CHARITY IS OPERATING FROM VARIOUS VENUES PROVIDING ADHOC ENTERTAINMENT AND ENCOURAGING PARTICIPATING IN THE ARTS.

Social activities in the Billy Row area. The area of benefit will now be Billy Row Village the settlements of Stanley Crook adjacent to the North East; Sunniside to the North; Roddymoor to the West and Grahamsley to the south. The boundaries of the settlements will now be the full extent of work carried out by the association.Including safety, environment, education, health and youth.

Friends of Bowes School raises funds to provide additional resources for the children attending the school. It also arranges extra activities out of school for the school children and the local community.

The Trust exists to celebrate and keep alive the memories of amateur football in the North East and South West County Durham in particular. Due to Covid activties have been severely restricted. However Bishop Auckland Football Club opened a shop in November 2021 which gives a showcase for the Trust's collection.

Provide Funding in the Form of Grants to children and young people who reside in the Teesdale area to enable them to engage in Creative Arts.

Giving aid to the sick, elderly and needy with the Parish.

The activities take place in the New Kyo & Oxhill area. The Partnership would normally have held monthly meetings, produced newsletters, planted bulbs and planted flower beds, have previously held a weekly youth club, set up other local events including a Fun Day and Christmas parties. We also distribute gift vouchers/presents to the older residents or families in need at Christmas.

The relief of Poverty and the advancement of education. Community Service

Activities & events to advance the education of women for the public benefit in all areas including: issues of political & social importance; music, drama etc.; all branches of agriculture, craft, home economics, science, health and social welfare. To promote sustainable development for the public benefit. To advance health and citizenship for the public benefit. Monthly meetings in Wolsingham.

Establish Heritage Trail, build Playground and games facility for youngsters and teenagers, improve appearance of entrances to village.

Musical Performances

WE OFFER SUPPORT, ADVICE AND INFORMATION TO PARENTS OF DEAF CHILDREN IN THE NORTH EAST AREA. WE AIM TO ORGANISE EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES TO HELP FAMILIES MEET AND SHARE EXPERIENCES TOGETHER

The charity meets at least once a month and provides talks, demonstrations or workshops for its members

Yearly music Festival

A group for mothers and carers with babies and toddlers providing informal activities and refreshments.

Medical education: provision of education in Dermatology to members of the Department of Dermatology, Co. Durham and Darlington Foundation Trust, GPs, Community Nursing staff, Pharmacists, and anyone caring for patients with skin disease, with the aim of providing first-class services.

St Andrews Youth Club, Brandon develops and delivers social education activities for children and young people aged 5-18 years living in the Brandon Byshottles area. The project provides, in the main, recreational and leisure time activities on a centre based, outreach and detached basis.

Publishing a regular Journal and occasional publications, such as those in the series "Durham Biographies".Organising 5 free historical lectures a year open to all.
