We provide a safe and caring environment for young people to access after school. Many of the young people who attend our project experience serious level of depravation and as a result have mental health issues which affects their capacity to achieve and lead a balanced life. Our work endeavours to address those needs and encourage, affirm and support our vulnerable young people.

The business is a Community Hall used for the purpose of providing a venue for individuals/organisations to hold their particular events and charged by the hour. It is home to the Brandon & Byshottles Table Tennis Club, the 5th Durham Scout Group and a Bingo Group as well as hiring rooms to Slimming World, a Dance School, Integration Trust and the Durham Socialist Clothing Bank and Food Bank.

We operate a weekly parent and toddler session for pre-school children to take part in informal play and learning.

Providing support and activities to children, young people and families in Crook and the surrounding area.This is achieved by delivering youth and family support services and activities through staff and volunteers as well as ion partnership with other local groups and organisations.We aim to provide a safe and friendly environment for young people and thier families to enhance their well-being.

We are working in Partnership with Iraqi universities and UK universities to provide knowledge and expertise to change outcomes for children in Iraq. We are focusing on education, social emotional well being, disabilities and trauma.

To relieve financial hardship to farmers and their dependents in County Durham and North Yorkshire by grants to individuals and/or charities or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty.

The Friends of Wellfield School hold fundraising activities for socialisation and for raising funds for the school. The Friends also apply for grants for activities for the school community.

The trust acts as an umbrella organisation for capacity building and development of facilities for community sport and recreation.

At a meeting on 19th March 2025, the trustees decided that this charity be dissolved.After several attempts to revive the charity by calling public meetings, it is not quorate, so cannot function.The current trustees decided unanimously that the residual funds should be transferred to Wolsingham Parish Council, to be used in accord with the objectives of the charity, and this is in process.

KAIROS Companions in Grief is A Bereavement Counselling & Support Service for Bereaved People throughout Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and County Durham. It offers (a) a specialist one-to-one bereavement counselling service; (b) specialist therapeutic bereavement support groups; (c) organisational bereavement advisory service; (d) from 2013, counselling service for bereaved children.

Slow Shopping's aims are to relieve people in the UK & overseas who live with mental &/or physical disabilities by the provision of training and other support services to enable them to shop, visit or attend a variety of settings in order to enhance their experience by maintaining and developing their independence, confidence and dignity. It also collaborates in research in this field.

Strive to improve and update recreation facilities at the King George V Recreation Park for the benefit of all residents of Ferryhill.

To support people and improve quality of life through use of the natural environment; on how greenspaces are used and can be improved; use of nature to improve well-being.Education; practical skills (conservation, gardening and traditional crafts); volunteering opportunities and holiday activities all support the improvement of the environment and allow people to link to local greenspaces.

The charity has been set up in preparation for a transfer of assets of a community centre and land from Newcastle City Council as part of their divestment policy. The Charity is currently dormant awaiting Council decisions on the terms of that transfer.The Community Centre is currently managed by our charity Westerhope and District Community Association registered charity number 1044378.
