Stray Aid is an animal welfare-based organization whose primary aim is to stop re-homeable stray dogs and unwanted cats from being put down. By increasing public awareness to the plight of unwanted animals, providing information on what to do if you lose or find a dog or cat, who to contact and how to get help. We are creating a network to facilitate the exchange of dogs around the country.

Working within the Tees Valley recycling and reusing household furniture and bicycles for the benefit of people with limited disposable income. Working with ex-offenders to improve their employability. Promoting the benefits of re-use and recycling as a contribution towards a sustainable lifestyle.

A Charity to serve the purpose who are deaf, deafened, or hard of hearing and those with hearing loss, especially those resident in the geographical area comprising Co. Durham, Tees Valley and North Yorks, by promoting the social and health welfare interests of such persons through the provision of services, facilities, resources, support and items that protect and improve their conditions of life

The Cornforth Partnership aims to tackle and alleviate the issues local people and communities face within County Durham in relation to Health, Social, Economic and Educational deprivation. We provide services around 5 broad themes: Children, Young People and Families Domestic Abuse Older Person and Adult Well being Employment, training and Welfare

Our charity is a County Scout Council which operates in the County of Durham and the local authority areas of Gateshead, South Tyneside, Sunderland and Darlington. We are responsible for the governance, delivery and support of Scouting in accordance with the Policy, Organisation and Rules of the Scout Association and we operate and manage an adventurous activity centre outside of Durham.

TO PROMOTE INCLUSION INDEPENDENCE AND CHOICE FOR DISABLED PEOPLE

We provide skilful and considerate care in a professional and caring manner to elderly people within Derwentside to retain their bonds with the local community. We strive to give each resident who chooses, the opportunity to enhance their lives by taking part in social activities and outings should they so wish. It is our aim to promote with dignity an active and independent life.

To promote, improve and advance participation and education in the arts including the arts of dance, drama and music for people of all ages and abilities.

We are a registered charity whose objectives are to facilitate educational, training and leisure activities for the people of Pelton and surrounding areas. The Association occupies and manages Pelton Community Centre, which incorporates a purpose built Youth facility called Room 14, an outside Play Area, a Community Gym, IT Suite, a 320m2 Main Hall with full size stage and seven other rooms.

To advance the Christian religion by the provision of a house of retreat, primarily but not exclusively for members of the Churchof England who are resident in the Dioceses of Newcastle and Durham, which may also be used for any other charitable purpose which in the opinion of the trustee will maintain and strengthen the religious and educational life of its users.

Charitable funds received by the charity are accepted and held and administered as funds held on trust for purposes relating to the National Health Service in accordance with the National Health Service Act 1977 and the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990 and these funds are held on trust by the corporate body.

The Objects of the Company are to conserve, protect, rehabilitate and improve the landscape, rivers, streams, watercourses and water impoundments of the Wear catchment To advance the education in:- (1) The understanding of rivers and river catchment management. (2) The need for, and benefits of, conservation, protection, rehabilitation and improvement of aquatic environments.

Green Lane Nursery is set up as a purpose built centre within Green Lane School for all parents/carers in the surrounding area. It provides affordable, flexible childcare allowing parents/carers to be assured that their children are safe, secure and happy, enjoying the wide range of activities in a caring, learning environment.

Grant Giving

Haswell & District Mencap operate from a purpose built building in the heart of the community. Our main target group are people with a learning disability, their carers and the wider community. Our services and activities include daycare, sport and social groups, carer support, advocacy, a catering and a furniture social enterprise. We are also a Gateway Beacon Club and have Gateway Active Status.

The charity's principal activity during the period was to provide support and assistance to people who have suffered or are suffering from all forms of cancer by such means as the trustees consider fit.

From our purposely designed centre, we offer a range of support to families with disabled children or any additional needs. Activities include play clubs, dance classes, mother & toddler group, soft play, IT suite, sensory suite, sibling support, educational support, agriculture, small animal petting area, specialist holiday respite, specialist adapted cycles, crafts, volunteering opportunities.

THE FUND PROVIDES LONG TERM ASSISTANCE TO RETIRED CLERGY TO HELP WITH THEIR UPKEEP AND MAINTENANCE

To provide strategic community development in Chester-le-Street and surrounding areas. This includes working in partnership with others to tackle poverty and deprivation to support health and well being, employability and financial inclusion. Through Bullion Hall to provide specific services and activities for the benefit of the community and most especially those who are disadvantaged.

THE CHARITY ACTIVITIES PROVIDE THEATRICAL AND MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT, TALKS BY LOCAL PEOPLE, EDUCATIONAL CLASSES THROUGH THE ADULT LEARNING SCHEME. BALLET AND DANCE CLASSES ARE HELD FOR YOUNGER CHILDREN AS WELL AS THEATRICAL TRAINING. SPORTS AND KEEP FIT ACTIVITIES FORM AN IMPORTANT PART OF OUR ACTIVITIES.REVENUE IS EARNED FROM ROOM HIRE AND PROVISION OF FACILITIES TO EXTERNAL ORGANISATIONS.
