The Charity provides out of school activities for socially isolated & financially disadvantaged children and young people. The HNLC 's remit is to provide premises for partner organisation ELATT to deliver charitable work in the local community in Hackney.

The conservation and management of Abney Park (a 32acre memorial park, heritage chapel & woodland nature reserve) for environmental and arts education, skills training courses, museum/archive services, & cultural events. Projects include restoration of the Abney Park Chapel, arboretum, and memorials, and a new classroom and children's garden. Based in Stoke Newington, Hackney, London N16.
