Charities In Harrow

The charity gives donations to individuals and groups in need of both short and long term help. Most of the charity's donations are to those of the Jewish faith. On occasions the recipients are those needing sponsoring for a charity event for various national/international charities.

Formed in 1998 through Agenda 21 to encourage allotment use in Harrow we are now a federation of 17 horticultural and local groups. Our plant sales, quiz suppers, BBQ and Horticultural Show during the year raise funds which have provided disabled toilets, recycling bays and secure storages on allotment sites. (i) To relieve the need of people of the horn of Africa in the United Kingdom by the provision of information and advise, education and training (hereafter referred to as the beneficiaries) by providing training courses(ii) To advance the education of the inhabitants living in Somalia, Djibouti and Ethiopia. (iii) To preserve and protect good health.

The objectives of the PTA (a registered charity) are to organise events and activities that raise funds for equipment and projects in school, to organise social events for the enjoyment of the pupils, their families and the wider community and to represent the children's interests in community matters.

WORSHIP OF GOD, EVANGELISM, CONFERENCES, DONATIONS FOR CHARITABLE CAUSES IN EUROPE, AFRICA AND THE CARIBBEAN, MENTORING; GLOBAL MISSIONS, PROVIDING ASSISTANCE FOR CHARITABLE CAUSES IN POOR COUNTRIES; GIVING TRAINING AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO CHRISTIAN MISSIONARIES ALL OVER THE WORLD; PIONEERING CHURCHES AND SUPPORTING THEIR MINISTERS IN THE CARIBBEAN IN PARTICULAR AND THE WHOLE WORLD IN GENERAL

To pay the salary of Parish Clerk and other Church Officials

THE OBJECTIVES OF SWRC ARE TO SUPPORT DESTITUTE PEOPLE IN DISTRESS OR ILL HEALTH TO GAIN ACCESS TO SERVICES, AS WELL PROVIDING WELFARE SUPPORT FOR THE SAME. THE ORGANISATION ALSO PROVIDES COMMUNITY, EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES WHICH ENABLE REFUGEE AND OTHER MIGRANT COMMUNITIES TO PARTICIPATE IN THE LIFE OF THEIR LOCAL COMMUNITY AS RESIDENTS AND ACTIVE CITIZENS IN THE UK.

We patrol the streets of Harrow and Wealdstone on Friday nights (10PM to 4AM) and some Saturday nights (8:30PM to 2:30AM) with the remit of 'helping, caring and listening' to those people we come into contact with. We carry kit bags for helping people where necessary (flip-flops for girls struggling in high heels, water, lollies, blankets etc). We refer people on to local services where we can.

Applicants should be resident in London Borough of Harrow. Grants allowed are discretionary based on essential needs rather than desirable, this includes provision of basic living conditions- food, clothing, heating essential furnishings such as beds, cookers, rugs, childcare equip,health treatment. Grants towards holidays/school trips for children from homes in difficult financial circumstances.

To promote and foster educational, cultural, social and sporting activities specially Bengali Language, music and leisure time activities for its members living in London Borough of Harrow, Brent and anywhere in UK without distinction of sexual orientation, Race, religious, Political or any other opinion. To maintain liaison with local statutory authority & other voluntary organisations.

To empower, promote and protect the rights of children and young people with learning disability and their carers through:- the provision of arts, culture, recreational and leisure time activities- the provision of support activities and training which develop their skills- the relief of unemployment- the development of relationship and emotional skills- the provision of respite care

To relieve patients and former patients of the hospital and other invalids in the community who are sick, convalescent, disabled, handicapped, infirm or in need of financial assistance and to provide or assist in the provision of amenities in the hospital for patients and staff.

The Charity raises funds and offers support to Headstone Manor Museum and Heritage Centre

To promote participation in amateur sport and healthy recreation for children andyoung people from schools in the London Borough of Ealing and other West London boroughs, byfacilitating participation in Hockey through access to coaching, equipment and financial assistance.

The advancement of public education in the art of dance, in particular Folk Dancing, within the London Borough of Harrow and surrounding areas, by the provision of facilities, displays and training.

Distribution of Charity's income to the poor of the parish

advice and information to the residents of stanmore /harrow on environment,conservation and heritage

Preparation and presentation of public performances of musical theatre and concerts in the local area. Membership open to ages 16 years and above with reduced membership fee for full time students.

Operate and maintain an Eruv in the Pinner area.
