The object of Friends of Samuel Lucas (FOSL) is to advance the education of pupils at the school by engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advances the education of the pupils through fund raising events including school picnics, fairs and festivals, film and quiz nights, childrens disco etc

Through the raising of funds, The Friends of Two supports the school and aims to assist with the education of the pupils by providing facilities or equipment in addition to purchases made by the school from statutory funds. Decisions as to the use of the funds are reached by consultation between the committee and the head teacher of the school.

Organising an annual Folk Festival in Kimpton in July;Maintaining Folk Sessions each month in Kimpton and Wheathampstead;Organising 50-minute 'Pop-Up' concerts in Kimpton during autumn and winter to further generate interest in folk music;Launching an outreach programme to foster increased interesting and understanding of folk music in local schools.

The promotion of community participation in healthy recreation for the benefit of the inhabitants of Chipperfield and the surrounding area by provision of facilities for playing cricket.

Donations to school for items/services not provided by local authority, for the benefit of children attending Bovingdon Primary School.

Provision of village hall facilities for meetings, lectures, classes, recreation etc.

The Benevolent Fund was established for the benefit of such distressed Brother Mark Master Masons, their widows and children, or for the benefit of such masonic charities or other charitable institutions, societies and objects as the Provincial Grand Mark Lodge of Hertfordshire shall in duly constituted meeting from time to time direct.

Provision of village hall facilities for the local community in Whitwell and the surrounding area.

The charity raised money to enhance the provision and experience of education whilst part of Howe Dell School, Howe Dell Day Care or whilst registered to use the facilities at Howe Dell Family Centre.

We raise funds for Codicote school by holding a number of different events throughout the year which are supported and enjoyed by parents and children attending the school plus members of the local community. All money raised is used to provide additional resources and equipment to enhance the development and enjoyment of life at school for the children.
