The charity is established for general purposes and operates as a grant-making charity, supporting projects, organisations and individuals with grants of varying sizes and durations. Initially, the trustees have focused on causes relating to children, education and health, as well as helping those with dementia through the power of music. The Utley Foundation supports causes at home and abroad.

To promote the proclamation and furtherance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ Our Lord, the preaching and teaching of the Christian faith, and to support ministry at home and overseas. In addition, the charity seeks the relief of those in need, hardship and distress or who are aged or sick.

We aim to improve the standard of healthcare provision in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) and the UK through the training of staff and students in both regions. We run undergraduate student exchange programmes between SSA and UK, and also place professional UK volunteers within healthcare facilities in SSA on long and short-term basis in order to provide training and facilitate knowledge exchange.

The Trust was formed as a vehicle to meet charitable causes in any area of the world. Magic Bus takes children living in poverty in India on the journey from eduction to livelihood. During this long term engagement, our mentors work with children using activities as metaphors to change behaviour in the areas of education and livelihood. Magic Bus works with 360,000 children and 5,500 youth mentors in 23 states in India.
