Open Doors Project (Hull), based at Princes Avenue Methodist Church, supports asylum seekers and refugees in the Hull area, by befriending, counselling, listening, by providing free food parcels, used and new donated items (e.g. clothing and household), limited cash support and housing costs for destitute asylum seekers, language and music sessions, tea/coffee and lunch one day per week.

The charity provides outreach support, both day and evening, along with peer group support sessions to women working in prostitution, and other vulnerable women, in the city of Hull. We offer friendship, advice and opportunity for change, including practical help and advice on sexual and general health, and housing.

We are a charity organisation supporting the elderly. All activities and projects are geared towards the elderly to enable them to sustain independence. We provide nutritional meals, activities, personal care along with in house events and trips throughout the year.

We also offer a variety of learning opportunities, advice and support services for parent carers.

The charity runs a community centre in the Newington area of Hull. Activities range from education, health and general recreation for all ages.

Health and Safety in the Construction Industry

We provide pastoral support to families of children with Down syndrome. We run a weekly group session which provides education, fun and play for babies and children with Down syndrome. School-age children attend fortnightly with their teaching assistants. We provide training for parents, teachers and other professionals. We provide consultancy work within schools to ensure effective inclusion.

Provision of pre-school education and allied activities

The charity provides childcare for children aged 2-5 years. It is based in a community centre which serves the local area. The charity also provides placements for students and school work experience students, as well as parent volunteers.

Pride in Hull delivers a large scale annual event in Hull aimed at promoting inclusion, community cohesion and raising awareness of issues affecting the LGBT+ community. The event consists of a large parade which offers creative opportunities in the weeks and months prior to the event to engage the local community in artistic projects. The main event consists of a large outdoor concert.
