Enable people to live out their Christian faith through worship, prayer and learning about the Bible. Provide pastoral care for the local community and those attending the church. The church meets every Sunday for worship for the public to attend. Other activities for children, youth and older people are held on weekdays and are regularly supported by the local community.

FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, THE RELIEF OF PEOPLE IN NEED IN LEICESTER AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS, WHO ARE HOMELESS, ROUGH SLEEPING OR VULNERABLY HOUSED BY PROVIDING FOOD, CLOTHING, SUPPLIES AND SIGNPOSTING TO RELEVANT INFORMATION AND ADVISORY SERVICES.

Scout Group providing access to activities for scouting members, in line with Scout Organisation

Mixed Scout Group

The presentation of public concerts, recitals, masterclasses and otherwise to promote public education in, enjoyment and appreciation of, the art and science of music in all its aspects.

Provides speaker for monthly meetings. Organises group activities for a variety of educational and sporting activities.

The Baxter Hall Charity manages a community hall for the benefit of the local community. Local organisations and individuals can hire the hall including social, educational and interest groups. The Lower Hall is used for a playgroup (starting September 2021).

Provision of a free to enter Museum Gallery which showcases the military and social history of The Royal Lancers and Nottinghamshire's Cavalry from 1689 to the present day.Provision for family research and an on site educational research facility.Preservation and conservation of artefacts and archival material.

Religious Activities

EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES AND RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES

To provide suitable premises for the purpose of a village hall for use of the inhabitants of the parish of Hickling, without distinction of political, religious or other opinions.

Supporting both spiritually and financially Launde Abbey Trust which is a Retreat House in Leicestershire.

Village pre school.

Provide support services for people with learning disabilities.

Nottingham Bach Choir educates the public in the art and science of music, in the presentation of concerts. A particular activity is the study and performance of the music of J S Bach and his contemporaries.The choir rehearses weekly during term time at St John's Church, Carrington and performs three or four times a year in mainly church venues in the city and county of Nottinghamshire.

Football Club- for Junior teams boys and girls and adult teams

The club builds model railways, largely for display purposes. Its layouts are available for charities to raise funds. Layout building enables skill transfer for the many aspects of model making, including woodwork, electric circuitry, analogue and digital propulsion control, detailed model and scenic construction. Heritage displays are mounted as well as regular contributions to major exhibitions.

The Charity continues to maintain part of the grounds at Misterton Hall together with the Rutland Room. These facilities are made available, usually in conjunction with Help the Aged, to aged or disabled persons to fish in the lake or attend social functions.

Manage accommodation for single women in need

Our charity aims to reduce social isolation and boost recreation in a rural community with limited access to public amenities. We welcome everyone: children, young people, the elderly, people with disabilities, and other charities. Through our village hall, garden, playground, and member-driven activities, we create a safe, inclusive space for social connection, leisure, and personal development.

We are a group of 11 Trustees. There are 4 elected members, 5 Representative Members serving the community who represent the U3A, WI, Girl Guides, Keep Fit, Parish Council and there are also two co-opted Trustees. Our Committee also has two Honorary Officers who are appointed annually to fulfill the roles of Treasurer and Secretary.

CommunityCentre & Library, serving multi-ethic community. Activities hub for Co-op Women Guild, Art & Over 70s clubs, dance, stage, tap, keep fit, Martial Arts classes. Popular venue for engagements, weddings, christenings, birthday parties. Largest operational stage in area used for and cinema shows, charity fund raising events, church services and other social events for the community.
