The Village Hall is provided and maintained for the use of the inhabitants of Shackerstone without the distinction of sex, age, disability, nationality, race or political or religious opinions, for meetings, lectures, classes or other forms of recreation or leisure activity, with the object of improving the condition of life for the said inhabitants.

Objects of the charity are providing or assisting in the provision of facilities for recreational or other leisure time occupation for the benefit of the inhabitants of Hoby and the neighbourhood thereof with the object of improving the condition of life of the said inhabitants.

The Society promotes the study of archaeology and history in the town and surrounding area. It mounts exhibitions, publishes local studies and organises programmes of talks.

The Community Garden provides opportunities for the people of all ages and abilities in the area to learn about and take part in growing vegetables and fruit in an environmentally friendly way. There are events and workshops taking place all through the year (such as pruning, making compost at home, sowing and planting vegetables), as well as the chance to become a regular volunteer,

Community Events for the Community, The Charities organises transport based events for public enjoyment. The money raised at these events is for local groups, individuals and local charities to apply for.

To distribute monetary gifts to the elderly and those elderly people who are suffering financial difficulty

The Charity gives grants to help the elderly of Kegworth either as individual grants or to clubs or associations

Provides allotment gardens for rent by parishioners to enable them to grow their own vegetables or flowers. Has developed an environmentally sustainable woodland area for the benefit and enjoyment of parishioners. Maintains the area in a manner that is good for the environment and wildlife. A surplus of income over expenditure can be offered as small grants to needy parishioners.

The charity is responsible for the upkeep of the fabric and furnishings of St. John the Baptist Church, Hugglescote.
