We study our scriptures and literature for understanding and comprehension. We promote respect, compassion and affections for mankind, animals and environment. We respect all communities for harmonious living. We have a discussion group and vegetarian club and encourage talks and discussions on religious, cultural and healthy living styles.

The committee hold various events to fundraise throughout the year. The events held are amongst others - Xmas Fete, Summer Fete, School discos, sponsored events.

The charity's objectives are:(a) to arouse and foster interest in the Cathedral throughout the Diocese and beyond; and(b) to assist with funds to preserve the fabric of the Cathedral and associated buildings and to assist in the preservation and enrichment of the ornaments and furnishings of the Cathedral and the maintenance and development of its worship and mission.

School Social Events

To educate the public in the operatic arts and to further the development of public appreciation and taste in the said arts.This is primarily done through performances of operas, operettas, and other operatic and dramatic works either fully staged or in concert form.

The prevention or relief of poverty of Queen Katharine Academy students who are in need because of financial hardship or other disadvantage by providing grants, items and services to those in need and / or to charities or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty and / or financial hardship.

The Green Backyard is a vibrant community gardens open to everyone. We are passionate about health, wellbeing and sustainability. We host a market garden run by Project Abundance, we work also with individuals, site partners and groups from across Peterborough. On site we also host a refill shop, bike repair project, men's shed, children's groups and various educational workshops and activities.

Coffee mornings, no-uniform days, sponsored runs, school fayres and school discos.

Continuing to support only children from the parish of St Marys Farcet with their educational needs whilst still at school, university and apprenticeships supplying tools etc. Also the local church school for purposes not covered by the local educational authorities.

Promotes understanding of the local and natural history of the village and civil parish of Thorney, particularly through the development and opening of the Thorney Heritage Museum.

To promote social inclusion for the public benefit by working with people living or working within theadministrative area of Peterborough City Council or living outside that administrative area but wishing toavail themselves of the benefit of or to access the services offered by GLADCA, who are socially excludedon the grounds of their ethnic origin and to relieve the needs of such people

Activities supported by the Scouts Association

The group exists to allow the voluntary/faith sector, Peterborough City Council and other partners towork together to co-ordinate the wide-ranging work in tackling rough sleeping in Peterborough. All partnerswork collectively towards a shared goal of ending rough sleeping in the City.

Established to make a positive contribution to personal development for community benefit through: a small grants programme (Max 250.00) supporting young people, community volunteers and groups, a programme of training and support for voluntary organisations and new groups and the management of a residential activity centre and campsite (established under reg no 1156557 and incorporated in 2017)

Friends of Newborough School raise funds throughout the school year, by holding a variety of events within school and the village community. These include May Day Celebrations, Christmas Fayre, Summer Disco, Raffles, Mufti Days, Race Nights and stalls at village events. The money raised is donated to Newborough School to fund equipment and resources to enhance the children's education.

The charity was created to assist financially those in Wansford and Thornhaugh who wish to proceed on to further education. We help by means of a grant in the form of book tokens or special equipment needed for a specific course or other relevant educational costs approved by the Trustees. We also have the capacity to give support to those in need in these villages.

To advance the education and wellbeing of the pupils at the Cavendish School by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities not required to be provided by the local education authority at the school.Our main activity in this area has been to seek donations from local business and groups towards funding work in the school.
