RELIEF OF POVERTY AND THOSE IN NEED FROM DISADVANTAGED POSITIONS

PROVIDES BUILDINGS/FACILITIES/OPEN SPACE FOR THE USE OF CHARITABLE PURPOSES, RELIEF OF POVERTY AND EDUCATION.

We raise funds from the general public for mainly local charitable purposes, and undertake other local community help.

As well as competing at both local and national levels in brass band competitions, we provide music for the local community together with music tuition for all ages especially disadvantaged youngsters as well as providing historical information to heritage groups, keeping alive the tradition of colliery bands. We provide concerts for other charities, veteran and senior citizen groups.

Spaceguard UK is supporting the activities of The Spaceguard Centre, an astronomical observatory specialising in the NEO hazard. The major project being supported at the moment is the building of a dome to house a large telescope gifted to the Centre by Cambridge University. This new facility will enhance the Centre's outreach and educational programmes.

The object of our association is to advance the education of the pupils at the school by developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school andengaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils

To raise funds on behalf of Crickhowell Primary School to contribute towards purchase of additional educational resources & equipment, indoor / outdoor play equipment, refurbishment / maintenance of School premises and occasional school trips. Fundraising campaigns are jointly agreed between Trustees and The Headteacher, aiming to improve the educational experience for both pupils and staff.

Provide facilities to community groups e.g Ladies, Youth Line-Dance, Gardening, Tai Chi. Provide a facility for occasional users: Local Elections, Comm. Council Meetings, Funeral Teas, local celebrations. Provide talks on heritage, poets, environmental issues. Provide a monthly Coffee morning for the community. In the future we want to extend this to other groups inc. educational groups.

In Crickhowell the club carries out fund raising events: running the County recycling site, annual Duck Race, to raise funds for local and international charities recognised by Rotary. We also participate in organising Rotary "Youth competitions and Youth Leadership Awards.

Erwood YFC is open to all young people aged 10 to 28 years of age. It offers a balanced programme which includes, education & training, community projects, sport, drama, public speaking, cookery, rural crafts and much more.

To provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation leisure time with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents of Llanfrynach and Cantref and the neighbourhood.
