The Hornby Trust has succeeded in the development of a permanent Frank Hornby Heritage Centre in Maghull and has created a display of Meccano, Hornby & Dinky items covering the initial invention of Meccano in 1900 to Frank Hornby's death in 1936. A permanent heritage centre that includes artwork, ephemera, heritage trails and educational activities working with other notable museums and societies.

The charity sponsors and oversees promising young scientists undertaking innovative patterns of basic research into the pathogenesis and treatment of the rheumatic diseases. The charity also encourages the education of health care professionals in rheumatology by providing funding for courses and conferences. We have also sponsored young doctors from Kenya to train in rheumatology.

Our objective is to improve society through supporting the most vulnerable. We specialise in supporting vulnerable young people into Education, Employment, or Training (EET) that may otherwise become NEET.

Bringing upto 16 Belarussian children to UK each year for 1month. They live with host families. They have medical, dental and general health checks. Arranging full programme of events and activities. Their immune system is boosted and lifespan extended. Fubding for this is achieved by group events eg. race nights, local community fund raising.

THIS SOCIETY ENJOYS MONTHLY MEETINGS FROM SEPTEMBER TO THE FOLLOWING APRIL, WHICH ARE ADDRESSED BY GUEST SPEAKERS TALKING ON A SPECIFIC TOPIC OF LOCAL INTEREST FROM AN HISTORICAL POINT OF VIEW. WE ALSO ARRANGE DAY EXCURSIONS TO PLACES OF INTEREST IN THE SUMMER MONTHS.

PROVIDING WEEKLY NEWS AND MAGAZINE CASSETTES TO BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED PEOPLE.

The charity brings people from all walks of life together, to sing, play and perform. It is an ideal setting for so many reasons, it helps people with Dementia Alzheimer?s speech impediments and much more. It brings the young and the elderly together through their mutual love of music, social inclusion for people from the more vulnerable backgrounds now feel valued and have a purpose.

Producing artistic works (writing, theatre, audio) by emerging creatives from the North West of England, supported by workshops and professional development programmes. The principal thematic focus is the intersection between arts and ecology, and making work that responds to a time of ecological emergency. The organisation produces work in forms and places to reach non-self-selecting audiences.

Promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the area, including children, young people, elderly and people with disabilities.We provide building/facilities and open space to enable activities and library facilities.We act as an umbrella or resource body for the area.

Makes grants to individuals (children and young people) for Education/Training within the Sefton area

The objectives of the group are to encourage the use of public footpaths and to assist in the preservation, maintenance and defence of the rights of the public to use and enjoy on foot the public highways, (e.g. footpaths, bridle paths, by-ways and other ways, wastelands and roadside strips). 2. We provide a day center for Adults with Learning disabilities that include Horticulture /Crafts /Art. /guidance and advisory support / health guidance, social center providing the facilities of a disco general discussion groups and Bar ,along with seasonal events.

Benevolent donations to members of Southport & District RAOB GLE.

To collect, conserve, restore and display fire appliances, uniforms, medals and equipment relating to the Fire and Rescue Service on Merseyside and to present to the visitors to the Heritage Centre its history and contribution to the local community.To maintain a digital archive of the fire history of Merseyside including the fire stations, personnel, appliances and equipment.

The prime aim of the charity is to support by gifts, charities/organisations for the elderly within the Formby area.
