Somerset Community Food supports a network of community food projects across the county. This includes growing projects such as community gardens, distribution projects such as food co-ops and cookery classes.

The North Dorset Beekeepers Association aims to advance the education of the public and beekeepers in the craft of beekeeping and the importance of bees in the environment. It provides basic and advanced training in accordance with the policies of the British Beekeepers Association, keeps qualified members up to date and attends local events to help educate the general public

BOURTON & ZEALS PRE SCHOOL IS AN OFSTED REGISTERED PRESCHOOL FOR CHILDREN FROM 2 YEARS OF AGE. IT IS RUN BY A PARENT MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE AND EMPLOYS 5 STAFF. IT OPERATES FROM A PURPOSE BUILT SETTING, ADJACENT TO ST GEORGE'S SCHOOL, BOURTON.A MAXIMUM OF 25 CHILDREN MAY ATTEND THE PRE SCHOOL AT ANY ONE TIME AND IT IS ABLE TO SUPPORT CHILDREN WITH LANGUAGE AND LEARNING DIFFICULTIES.

Sutton Bingham Sailing Club enables adults and children to undertake dinghy sailing at Sutton Bingham reservoir. The Club is accredited by the RYA, the national body for all forms of sailing, and is an RYA accredited Training Centre. Facilities are provided for adult and youth sailing. The Club is particularly keen to encourage young people to experience the sport of sailing in a safe environment.
