The W.I. formed in 1915 with two clear aims, to revitalise rural communities and encourage women to produce more food during the 1st world war. Durham Anglican Cursillo is afiliated to British Anglican Cursillo Council (BACC) and operates the Cursillo method within the diocese of Durham and Newcastle. Established church members are invited to attend Cursillo weekends at which they are encouraged to grow in the christian faith through prayer and study and action. After the weekend, participants are encouraged to join a reunion group.

We raise funds for veterans and serving soldiers in need, in the Teesside Area mainly by Association monthly raffles, functions, collections and donations. This year we have held several functions which have also raised funds To take veterans to Oswestry for necessary operations.

Durham Bat Group promotes the conservation and welfare of bats within the vice-county of Durham, including the provision of advice and help to the public with regard to bats, education of the public about bats by means of talks, bat walks, talks to school groups etc., encouragement of community participation in bat related activities, and study of bats to improve understanding of their biology..

We run a monthly support group in Teesside for anyone affected by the death of a baby, lead by trained peer supporters (all of whom have experienced the death of a baby themselves). We also provide support via email and social media. We work with healthcare professionals, to improve understanding and support given and also to provide education through training to improve bereavement care.

The Friends of Tees Valley Youth Orchestra advance the education of the public by supporting and assisting the activities of the Tees Valley Youth Orchestra, a youth orchestra forming part of the Tees Valley Music Service.

Fundraising to help purchase equipment and other resources for use by the school for the benefit of the children

Volunteers work alongside Churches and the local community on the Hardwick estate to provide affordable food and relieve isolation & poverty. Activities include a weekly community larder & welcome space open to all. Activities take place at the local Church.
