Charities In Tameside

The object of the Boys' Brigade is advancement of Christ's Kingdom among boys and the promotion of habits of obedience, reverence, discipline and self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness. The Manchester and District Battalion is responsible for providing support services to the Boys' Brigade Companies in its locality.

The Charity deals with general charitable purposes. In particular we promote education/training, relief of poverty, overseas aid and famine relief, religious activities. We help children/young people, elderly/old people, people of a particular ethnic or racial origin, other charities/voluntary bodies. In general we carry out the above by making grants available to individuals and organisations.

We help collect and send humanitarian aid from Manchester to people affected by the war in Ukraine. We also run a community hub in Prestwich, Manchester, where we support Ukrainians living in Greater Manchester. Our charity helps people learn more about Ukraine, its language, culture and heritage.

Provides funds for the PCC of St George's Church, Hyde for the upkeep of the church grounds

To Fund raise for education purposes of our children. Provide fun activities which benefit them educationally and socially, to bring the community together, with fun events whilst raising funds for equipment in both the nursery and school.

THE RELIEF OF PERSONS SUFFERING FROM SICKLE CELL DISEASE AND THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR RECREATION, AND THE RELIEF OF POVERTY FOR SUCH PERSONS AND THEIR IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS HAVING NEED FOR SUCH FACILITIES DUE TO THE EFFECT/IMPACT OF SICKLE CELL.

TO PROMOTE THE PRESERVATION OF BADGERS IN THEIR NATURAL HABITATS; TO PROTECT AND PRESERVE THE BADGER AND THEIR SETTS FROM PERSECUTION AND CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES AND TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF THE NATURAL HISTORY AND ISSUES FACED BY BADGERS TO THE MUTUAL BENEFIT OF BADGERS AND THE PUBLIC. OPERATING PREDOMINATELY WITHIN LANCASHIRE BUT CAMPAIGNING NATIONWIDE.

Provides assistance to relieve poverty.

a) Provide counselling and financial support for families bereaved or distressed.b) Participate and support community, humanitarian and development projects.c) Offer free recreational and social activities in August, Easter and Christmas festive periods.d) Provide family support, encourage wider participation and social inclusion for old and young people.

Raising money through annual summer and winter fairs. Utilising this money for enhancing the education of the children.

Singing training to male members, giving concerts to support other charitable and community based organisations.

TO PROMOTE IMPROVE DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN EDUCATION AND APPRECIATION OF BRASS BAND MUSIC.

Fact has been organised by families and friends who recognise what the benefits of additional care and therapy can bring when applied in conjunction with usual day to day techniques from their respective schools.All autistic children require different levels of therapy and care. We concentrate on providing help specifically for our children on a one to one basis, provide short breaks for families

To support voluntary youth and community organisations which are furthering the recreational or social welfare needs of the community in Tameside and the surrounding areas.

Fundriaising activites and events to provide equipment and resources for the use by the school and its pupils

To raise funds for St Mary's C of E Infant and Junior School

teaching the people faithhelp to relief the poverty the promotion of peace and harmony the advancement in education with a view to help the people to meet their own needs promoting information and mutual understanding and respect of the belief and practice of different faiths

Heritage Tramcar restoration and running of restored vehicles within Heaton Park in Manchester, run solely by volunteers. Maintaining heritage tramway infrastructure and undertaking restoration works on tramcars originally built from 1880 onwards.

Furthering the objects of the Charity

The charity operates for the good of the community, various activities are organised for the public good and we act as a partnership organisation for the community to raise issues with. Monthly meetings are held on the first Monday of the month.
