It is also closely linked to the Language Awareness journal and is normally consulted about the appointment of its editor, a member of the ALA Board. Membership includes subscription to the journal.

Burmalink UK provides education, health and human rights assistance to Burmese people in Thailand and inside Burma.

Rather than support established 'causes', many of which are already well resourced, we support people in real, but often short-term need who are not able to access help from others. Grants/donations to other charities mainly for poverty relief and religious activities.We only give to charities where we have a personal connection.

It gives bursaries to help poor children overseas to access local schools, and funds infrastructure improvements such as classrooms, furniture, toilets and computers. Poliphonia is an UK based charity with the purpose of promoting the classical music of the Americas. We promote concerts in the UK with repertoire from composers from the Americas, sponsor young players interested in learning this repertoire, restore music still in manuscript form to facilitate performance and produce recordings and film of performances and educational content.
