Our primary objective is the promotion of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to the doctrines and practices of the Church of England. The Charity takes young homeless people into safe flats rented to us by The Peabody Trust and we help them with support through all stages to work and independence.

St Matthew's PCC is constituted to co-operate with the Priest in promoting in the parish of St Matthew with St James the Great, Bethnal Green, the whole mission of the church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical. It has responsibilities for a number of properties - the church, a two storey Parish Hall, The Parish Room and The Watch House.

Teaching juniors and adults to row with the aim of increasing their fitness and taking part in competition. The club is nationally competitive in junior, senior and veteran classifications both male and female. The club also provides for non-competitive members.The charity achieves these aims by the provision of all the necessary equipment such as boats, a gymnasium and volunteer coaches.

Provide facilities for the safe-keeping, conservation, storage and display to the public of works of art belonging to the CIO; make loans of works of art belonging to the CIO to other institutions in the UK and abroad; promote and carry out research.

Abertots Playgroup is a weekday sessional provision (8.30-11.30 or 12-3) which runs during term time only. We provide activities for 2-5 year olds in accordance to the Early Years Foundation Stage, which encourages each child to development as an individual and at their own pace.
